Les, the owner of American Jewelry & Loan, aka Hardcore Pawn tv show has the prototype
glass, IF he still has the pin in his office. During the first and second season of the show they use to show his office alot and there was the pin, in all it's glory, with the prototype backglass on it.

Maybe you should call his store up, I'm sure you can find the store's phone number on their website, and ask him if he'd like to help the cause. If he's not motivated by just doing the good deed maybe you could offer to throw some cash his way for allowing the glass to be used for the scan.

I sent his son a message on facebook and asked him how they acquired the pin. He said it came into the store from a customer that sold it to them. At one point the the pin was up for sale on their website, I think their price was somewhere in the $3000-3500 range.
