A friend of mine picked up a CHEEP Old Chicago and has hired me to recondition it for him. I loaned him a set of legs so we could get it off the floor and work on it. Before we did anything, we worked up a parts list for my favorite supplier:

X2 - plunger/link assbly - A-3714-3
X2 - coil stops - A-613-67
X15 - coil sleeves - sleeve bly std
X10 - spring washer - GTB-FA605+
X2 - flipper bats - A3994-5
X3 - pop caps - Red 10 Red Sun
X2 - pop caps - Red 100 W/L Red Sun
X5 - pop bodies - GTB-8797
X5 - pop skirts - A1218Y
x1 - rubber ring kit, white
X100 - #44 lamps - LAM0044A
X100 - #47 lamps - LAM0047A
manual
schematic
X4 - legs
X2 - 2" leveler - LEG2
X2 - 3" leveler - LEG3
X55 - white faceted posts - C11561W
X1 - Plunger - BLY-A100-15
X1 - inner plunger spring - GTB-A348
X1 - barrel spring - GTB-A347
X1 Lot - target foam - Mat-TargetFM

That got us off to a good start.

Pics to come later I guess....

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, I did check topside for broken/separated rods...but not below for sheared threaded studs.

I have a bunch that I've polished up to a mirror finish, and would have to polish new ones as well, so no huge miss there.

Didn't notice the lift channel because the glass is in super nice shape, just like the playfield.

So I pulled the head and brought it back to the house for service. I like to get the score reels out of the way early...and found this:

All 16 have the infection

But after a little brushwork, they look like

The owner wants to fix it up "right", but also on a budget.

Yes, it was odd. Most of the digits facing down just started flaking off. Lots of ink missing. Had to paint them all by hand. That tends to elongate the time it takes to rework a unit. 4 down, 12 to go...ugh...

Quoted from dasvis:

Had to do the same on my Old Chicago. The ink on those score reels was really weak.
Pinball pimp's stencil kit for this title is outstanding if you want to put the effort into painting it.

Weak is right, if not understated.

Yes, it will have to be repainted as it's all faded and flaking.
