I just got a WCS pinball and the MPU is not working so I am going to try it in my Road Show just to make sure it is the mpu board. I know I have to change the eprom but do I need to change the security rom? Also what should the numbers be set at? Should they all be on zero or one?
Thanks,
Tom

Both games are WPC-S (not WPC95) so yes..you can swap between the two games. Security ROM must be moved with the Game ROM.

What is the fault...not booting?
What is the status of the LEDs?
If you unplug the 3 ribbon cables, does it boot?

You really only need the power connector plugged into the MPU to test to see if it boots. You can have a ribbon cable, fliptronix, sound board, or even a DMD controller cause a boot up issue.

I suggest changing your title from "95 wpc MPU security board question" to "WPC-S MPU board question".

Thank you. I just bought a WCS and wires and boards are everywhere right now. I was told everything works except for the MPU board. So I was going to test it in my Road Show first to see if it is a board or rom issue. I was thinking of just taking out my security and game rom from Road Show board and putting them into the other board and then trying it in Road Show to see if it works. I think this would allow me to see if board or roms are bad. Should the numbers be set at any certain number?
Thanks for all your help! Tom

What issue was reported to have with the MPU?
Do you have any battery corrosion on the board?

Quoted from PinballT:

I do not know what you are referring to.

Board looks very nice. The guy I bought it off of said he tested all of the other boards in a game and works but the mpu did not. Nothing came on when he tried it. So I thought maybe it was a software issue. So that's why I am going to try the switch. On the board is a red rectangle box with about 9 white switches that can go up or down. So I was wondering if they need to go in a certain way.
Thanks,
Tom

Yes, That is it. I can't think today. I feel like a DIP.

Please post a picture of the board, without the battery holder installed. The description suggests it did not boot. You only need to connect the power connector J210 to see if it boots. If the MPU boots, then I would connect the ribbon cables. It helps to narrow down what could be going on with the board.
