Hey was hoping somebody may have purchased one of these translites for their Lost World. If you have one on your machine could you post a picture so I can see what it looks like I have been thinking about buying one but would like to see it on a machine.

Thanks

I told my wife that she could get me one of these as a Christmas present. Well she did and it showed up yesterday, in a shipping tube, which I thought was kind of weird, I thought it would come in a big box like a back glass. Never owned one so what do I know.

Only catch is.... she might make me wait till Christmas to open it up. Why wait??? I already know what it is. We'll see if I wine enough maybe I can get it sooner and then review it for everyone. Maybe if I use the excuse that it should not stay in the tube too long she'll go for that.

There very thin, you will need glass and all the trimmings just to hold it in place.
And yes tubing is normally how they come.

Can you sandwich it between two thin sheets of plexiglass?? If you get the thickness right.

Yikes, I cannot support that guy. His products are the worst no matter how bad I need parts!

Well in all honesty I had a problem with him before, worked around it, and I just order some stuff for my Capt Fantastic and the stuff is pretty nice. So as soon as I get this out, look at it, and get it on the game, hold off judgement maybe we'll be surprised.

As luck would have it, my wife was cool with me opening the tube and checking it out.

So far from what I can see it looks pretty good! And I am pretty impressed. It only took about a week for it to arrive and the condition is great. Colors look vivid and not washed out.

1st Picture is the front, 2nd is the back, and 3rd is just leaning against the wall. I held it up in the sunlight. There is a plastic film over the front, I'll remove that when I get it installed. And when I do I'll post pictures of that as well.

You be the judge........I like it!

Following, I need one

Ok so here we go.....since there were no instructions on how to do this, and I really could find any here on how to do this, here is what I did. Please learn by my mistakes.

First lesson I have learned is.... the translite is bigger than the original backglass. Of course I just assumed that it would be the same size, but it's not.

So not knowing this, or even thinking about, it I went to my local Menards store and bought 2 sheets of 3/32 inch thick glass and cut it the same size as the translite. I then peeled back the protective film, place the translite between the 2 sheets of glass and took two plastic trim pieces that I had, and the old lift channel of my old backglass (which looks like crap, need a new one) and put those on the sides and bottom to hold it together. The thickness was right a 3/16 inch (I at least got that right)

Man it looked freaking awesome, way better than I thought it would. Took it over to the machine....and guess what? It's too freaking big!!!! It won't fit. It about a 1/2 inch too big all the way around. Man did I feel like an idiot!!

So I got to cut the glass down again, hopefully without breaking it, and we see it that works. But here is a picture of what it looked like with the glass.

Ok update....I got the glass cut down and really spent some time making sure that the scoring displays all lined up correctly, before I trimmed the plastic down and it looks really nice in the game. Total spent on translite and glass $189.50

So it get 2 thumbs up from me. Pictures of the finished product
