I recently purchased a '77 Gottlieb Fire Queen pin. The game seems to run well but I had a question. When the ball enters any of the lanes in the pictures, it will make a short buzzing sound and that is it. Should it put points on the score board? Never owned a Gottlieb so I don't know if this is normal or not.

I am gonna say yes based on this video. Watch at 1:00 min in and you will see the outlane does score.

Do you get points on any pass throughs? If no check the first point relay and contacts. Make sure the relay is releasing and working properly.
Couple easy fist step would be to make sure contacts on the pass throughs and the contacts on the 500/1000 point relays are clean and functioning correctly. Might need a schematic. The pro's on here will be able to figure this out a lot quicker than me though. Just some of the first steps a rookie like me would look at.

Check your Jones plugs as well.

In the video you are playing as "one player" but it is scoring for the second player??? Something not right there.

Player 2 is lit.

If he is playing as a single game, why is it scoring in player 2 and not 1? Or am I looking at it wrong? Not saying that it has anything to do with his issues but it might be another problem as well.

Hmmm, I didn't watch very long, but now I see that there is no score on player 1 and that after the drain, player 2 is still up. Good eye

From your video, The lower In-lanes are not scoring. Under the playfield the switch contacts for the roll overs, could need cleaning or out of adjustment.
Could also be the sequence bank for the "1, 2, 3, 4". Switch contacts could need cleaning or are out of adjustment. Some of the 1,2,3,4, is working, though the bulb is out, on the upper number 1.

As the above comments from other Pinsiders the "Player Unit" is either physically stuck, or not getting a signal, to alternate from player 1 to player 2.

The game plays all 5 balls and then goes into "Game Over" successfully.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I got real lucky with the solution. Apparently the seller forgot to plug in the connector that goes to the top half of the pin. It was sitting in the bottom of the cabinet. Plugged it in and shazam! Everything works!

Currieddog for the win.

Now, when you start a single player game does it score as player one or player 2 as in the video?

#13 6 years ago

As stated from a previous post, if still on player 2 as a single game scoring, check your “player unit” may need just a cleaning.

It starts as player 1.

Also Scores as player1.
