Home pin lovers talk among your self's, there is already 2-3 threads.

I'll be watching the new Corvette unveil, much more interesting to see a mid engine corvette.

I know its masked but looks like the old NSX in that profile pic?

#3 4 months ago

The new version is what, 5 years old? Is that a quick change for them? I like the current model a lot...but this thing us here could be kick ass although that back spoiler is looking a little dodge avengerery

Mid engine, very cool.
Seemed like GM lost their way with Corvette design the last decade or 2. Played into the senior crowd too much IMO. Performance was there, but people looking foolish driving one.
Too star wars looking, with a 70 year old guy at the wheel. Just my opinion.

#8 4 months ago

Never really been a fan of the Corvette but I must say I really like the looks of this one.

#9 4 months ago

I prefer the old school round taillights, but I like the overall look of the C8.

Better to get a Mustang!

I like Mustangs. 69 fastback wouldn't be a bad way to go, but I've always been a Corvette guy. Yeah, I'm actually a guy that likes both.

#12 4 months ago

Saw one on the road the other day I thought it was a Ferrari or Lamborghini with the wrap all over it.

I would rather have a muscle car than a supercar. But I would take a 63 split window Corvette over anything!

Yeah, that's my first choice too. Followed by a chrome bumper C3 68-70. Any of those would be nice to have. I have an 08 and love it, but you cant beat the body style of the classics.

I like the later C3 non metal bumper cars. I would like any big block 4 speed car. Probably good that I don't have one though!

you gonna be old someday. i respect those “old guys” that drive vettes. they are some bad ass cool mofos. probably worked hard all their life to get to where they are and buy themselves their dream car. do 70 year old guys look foolish playing new pins or should they stick to ems?

so... you trading your 2019 in on a 2020? yes I agree 0-60 in under 3 seconds for sub 60K is nuts! Can't image what the C8 Z06 & ZR1 will do.

Congrats man I love Vettes, almost got a C6 Z, then a 09 CTS V fell into my lap no regrets.

#23 4 months ago

Never been a big fan of the looks on Vettes. Performance you can't argue. But hot damn, I am digging this version!

#24 4 months ago

Till they offer a manual, yawn

#25 4 months ago

If they put "Supreme" on the side, they apparently would get >$100K for it.

In all seriousness, they nailed it for 60K. Very impressive.

#26 4 months ago

I put down a deposit in April knowing very little about pricing. I’m pleasantly surprised.

For me, the taillights still look awful, but I like the ZR-1 inspired exhaust tips.

Yea my co worker bought aa Audi R8 was an 09 but looked brand new only 15K miles. Had a supercharger as well very nice car he paid more than that

I love the looks of the new corvette but I had a fast car in the past and find it’s hard to keep the speeding down so now I got a slow car that can drive feels fast but not really fast. C41453F7-3C75-4547-B4E8-D3CD056C5B8E (resized).jpeg

Here is a nice older Vette (not mine)

Don’t know yet. My lease is up in 14 months.

Need to see the convertible. If I’m not a fan, then I buy out my car. And if I love the new one, I can just turn it in and order a new one.

#29 4 months ago

It looks very nice but I don’t think it screams corvette with its new body lines. I think I prefer the last model.

I’m pretty sure this is made in parallel with the current “front engine” vette. This is kind of chevys Ford Gt of sorts

I think they’re killing the front engine Vette but I can see if they sold them both or bring back the front engine like Classic Coke. But really probably not enough demand for two such cars plus the Camaro. I think the front engine Vette is over.

Ya, I think the hellcat will take the front engine sales for a while. It’s such a great motor and there’s enough verity in models that it can go into. There are very few mid engine models these days, especially cheap ones.

There used to be MR2’s and Fierro’s to fill that gap.

This was a persistent rumor a while ago, but then went by the wayside. There may have a hiccup in the C8 electrical design which supposedly delayed the C8.

They can keep the price low by having good production numbers. That won't happen by running two lines. The logistics alone would be a hinderernce.

#35 4 months ago

I heard the last model C7 sales number took a steep dive as people waited for this car.

If anyone wants to see a dealer that specializes in Corvette sales have super prices. Can get a 2019 as low as $45k.

The performance specs are insane. I may have to test drive one of those puppies.

#37 4 months ago

I enjoyed my Vette, but traded it for a performance Tesla. New Vette looks interesting, but I can’t see myself buying anything but electric going forward. Gt500 looks promising too.

Electric is very very fast. My friend has a Tesla and in insane mode or something like that, it has amazing performance. I have 911t and I think the performance is similar but it is much more track friendly. I'd be interested to see what the track times are like on this Vette. It certainly looks the part. Can't wait to see it out there. At $60k, and those specs, I am not sure how you can go wrong.

#39 4 months ago

GM definitely nailed the price point, but they killed the corvette heritage and the rear end is fugly! I believe the higher trim c7’s will be collectible in years to come because of this.

#40 4 months ago

They needed to do mid-engine to separate it from the Camaro that was at Near/better performance. Not sure it will kill the heritage, but will add to it.

I’m not completely sold on the rear either. Probably should’ve returned to circular lights and I’m not impressed with the squared exhaust.

Stingray on rear looks kind of tacky IMO.

Looks amazing from a side profile view with those side scoops. Overall, pretty impressed. Price is insanely good too.

#41 4 months ago

They were testing this last summer on Freemont Pass, he didn't like it when we pulled over and snapped a pic!

C7 is dead. Can’t order them anymore. Production will end in a few weeks.

Chevy made this announcement about 2 months ago.

I wish the new one looked more like a vette, but it can’t have a long nose and short back with a mid-rear engine.

The C7 doesn’t have a traditional Corvette rear end either. The taillights look like something from Japan, just like the new C8.

They had pushed the front engine , rear tranny/diff to the limit. Just no where to go for more performance.

So it was time for a change. Sure, some aspects of the car are better than others...but as complete package...looks great.

Wonder if it still has a leaf spring? Lol...likely finaly gone..

Leaf springs are gone, but I don't understand the hatred/criticism for them considering how well vettes perform.

RIP the manual transmission.

It definitely is an eye catcher, but that color scheme is terrible. It looks ten times better in red and I don't even like red.

They could’ve made it AWD. I don’t see Porsche going away from rear engine anytime soon.

This could’ve/should’ve been a “one off” build like the Ford GT or a new model called the Stingray.

It’s not a Corvette. Sorry.
