My spot has it pretty often but haven’t pulled the trigger. Hadn’t really heard any feedback about it
Quoted from Fulltilt:Winter's Wheat Tofu! "It's what's for dinner!"
[quoted image]
Looking very interesting there!
Quoted from Ranhorton:I think I’m gonna like this bar.
Welcome! What are you drinking?
Quoted from Ranhorton:I put this bottle to rest last night. [quoted image]
Does anyone know why the word whisky or whiskey have two spellings?
Quoted from Fulltilt:[quoted image]
[quoted image]
Way to bring the energy back to this thread!!
Quoted from Bax1:Mind if I pull up a chair? First time I’ve been able to get this. What’s a decent price on this? And a new flavor of a bourbon barrel stout.
[quoted image]
Welcome!!!
MSRP is $46.78 $150 is the most I’ve seen it go for.
Quoted from Bax1:Ok so I did ok at 49.95 then. Looking forward to cracking her open
It’s tasty! Congrats on finding one
Quoted from Fulltilt:A-aron! Today's wheat post.
[quoted image]
Hey Don! How is it going?
Oh nice! And your cool Volvo!! Have you opened it yet. Curious how the Rye is. I have the confiscated.... it’s good but overpriced.
Quoted from Fulltilt:Yes, it is excellent. Recommended.
[quoted image]
Man! I love the look of that car! I’ll have to grab that bottle some time.
Quoted from Fulltilt:Well heck, come visit. We miss you too!
[quoted image]
That looks interesting! What are your thoughts on it?
Quoted from PinlordMarc:This is extremely my s.
Sampling’s tonight
5D511FE7-BBC2-406A-AF81-5F426C1B11B7 (resized).jpegQuoted from High_End_Pins:Curtis is a bourbon man. I am a Belgian man.
We meet in the garage with our offerings.
[quoted image]
Very nice!
Quoted from Colsond3:Done. Haha. I didn’t even realize that was sitting there. That was my “friend’s.”
That’s what I used to tell my Dad!
Quoted from Colsond3:Well now that buzz is going on, so going to start with a glass of Rioja and something lighter while I work on this thing some more.
Then I’ll hit the harder Johnny after while I drown my sorrows from recent Spooky news.
[quoted image]
Spooky news!
Quoted from Colsond3:Picked up something different as a gift, thought I’d try a bottle myself. Pretty good stuff.
[quoted image]
Tasty! Nice Superman
Quoted from jathomp22:It was sitting all by itself and the 16 year was too tempting to pass up on. Hopefully it’s good.
[quoted image]
I think you’ll enjoy it. I have a couple of their offerings
Quoted from ringonu:Just stocked the pinball/bourbon/rye bar. Pretty much all my money goes to pinball or whisk(e)y.
[quoted image]
Nice! Bourbon and Pinball make me happy
Quoted from Colsond3:That is some serious shit right there. Had some out in Vegas a few years back.
Performing a few tune ups on BF. My pace is about to slow down. Not quite top of the shelf, but always a decent bottle.
[quoted image]
Very nice! Nothing better than a little drink and some tinker time with a sweet machine
Quoted from ringonu:Yup. Saturday night. Likely to have a good bottle or two in the hotel room.
Awesome! We bought tickets for Saturday. I’ll have a bottle of something
Quoted from Colsond3:Was just messaging Erik last night. I should be there Saturday as well. Hopefully the plan holds up. Would like to make it.
Should be a good time! Will be nice to meet some pinsiders I haven’t met in person
Quoted from PinballNewb:Had some OF1910 for my fantasy football draft on Sunday. Great pour, along with the 1920.
Really just getting into bourbon over the past few months and have started building up a small collection. I think my favorite thus far is Russell’s SiB. Up next is ECBP b521 the wife just scored.
I think I (and the wallet) need to refocus on solid daily drinker price points! Seems the bourbon market in Ohio is as crazy as the pinball market.
It seems you have good grasp on what you like. I’m a fan of all that you have mentioned
Quoted from jathomp22:I got lucky and found a couple of these last week...[quoted image]
Very nice! I’m jealous
Quoted from PinballNewb:Jelly! Looks like someone won the recent lottery? I drew a blank.
Recent additions to the budding collection was Knob Creek 12 and Rare Breed. KC12 is a hitter. Really like it.
Sure did! It was a big surprise
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Shleezus! Are you going to blow fireballs with alpha betas?
Indeed! Wow! Kaboom!
Quoted from Chisox:Dang dude! I hope that’s got some age on it. Anything over 140 proof is considered “hazmat” and I have a light whiskey like yours, it’s a caramel/fire bomb that I have no idea to do with and have had a couple of the George T Stagg hazmat (2007-2013?) batches that were the most intense bourbons I’ve ever had. And yes, they will bitch slap you.
It’s 14 years old. I have to add water to it to drink it! The flavor is really good but way too hot.
Quoted from Fulltilt:Chris, try this Porter if you find it in the cooler.
[quoted image]
This is Tasty!!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Smart man .You marry a Pi and eventually she turns into a Mu.
Best to just start with the Mu’s settle in for the ride and avoid future disappointments.
This just showed the infinite wisdom of the the Tri-Lambs.
Have no idea what this is Curtis put in my glass I just pair it with my barrel aged stout.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Hes dressed to roll wonder joints and I have already warned my wife to hide the Halloween candy
[quoted image]
Quoted from OilGuy:Anyone tried this yet? Extremely smooth $60 whiskey. Coors must have enough financial aptitude to buy the “best” barrels. Fat finger added a pic from Hawaii.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Hmmm interesting find! Never have I seen it. I will keep my eyes out if you’re along it the “best” barrels worthy $ Nice Hawaii pic!
6A8EABFA-1EEB-4257-ADA5-7D8E5C760182 (resized).jpegQuoted from OilGuy:Nice, couldn’t get my wife in a helicopter to fly over the Napoli coastline. She wouldn’t even go with my son and I on a helicopter the Juno ice fields. Great trip as well.
Ahhh bummer… she would have loved the view. I understand though I don’t care for flying but I figured I made it all the way to Hawaii I could take a helicopter flight too
Quoted from Jackontherocks:Not crazy about this bottle, not bad but not memorable enough
[quoted image]
I see this bottle a lot. Always catches my attention but never purchased. Thanks for the heads up!
Quoted from ringonu:Raiding my brothers stash this weekend. Got some smoke wagon uncut, stagg jr and elijah craig 18 up on deck for Thanksgiving.
[quoted image]
Those are some great picks!
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:I hate when that happens Aaron! You killed one and I cracked open a new one. Kinda like some ying and yang shit going on here.
[quoted image]
Indeed!! Looks mighty tasty. Hope you and your family have been well!
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:I hate when that happens Aaron! You killed one and I cracked open a new one. Kinda like some ying and yang shit going on here.
[quoted image]
I added a high score to my DILE on the exact same day a year later. A different goofy photo this time around
201D7872-5002-42FD-AC56-B0109CAD2F2F (resized).jpegQuoted from Jaeg:It's been a bourbon drought around me for several months. Today my small town liquor store clerk asks if I want this!
I feel kind of guilty because it's the only bottle I've bought to re sale. I'm not into ryes so I'm not even tempted to open it.
[quoted image]
Who buys whiskey to sell?
Quoted from PinballNewb:Not I! From my albeit limited experience, Russell’s Single Barrel has probably been my favorite. This pick takes it to another level.
[quoted image]
I agree a very tasty bottle!!
Quoted from Jaeg:Me. To then buy bourbons I'd prefer to drink. I certainly wasn't going to turn down the offer.
Quoted from kcZ:I did have some bourbon but sadly this is the only picture that I took tonight. No socks
[quoted image]
What do the stand ups belong to?
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Curtis and I continue our contributions
His is bourbon mine is bourbon barrel aged.
[quoted image][quoted image]
The Willett I know I like and the barrel age imperial stout looks delicious
Quoted from kcZ:Nice table!
Thanks! Me and my lady made it
We are Off road mountain bikers and thought it would be a cool thing to make
Quoted from kcZ:Is that buried in epoxy?
No, I built a support under a glass top. My wife arranged the chains on the support and I put the glass back over the chains.
Pretty simple to make
Quoted from kcZ:Cheers
[quoted image]
I’m in on the clover ☘️ You have and older store pic so this is probably not quite as good as yours.
[quoted image]
Quoted from kcZ:Why do you think mine is older?
The age statement on the black label
Quoted from SNES:I found something I thought was pretty cool. I like the regular Derringer so when I saw this, I had to buy it!
[quoted image]
That is really cool!
Quoted from Jackontherocks:I enjoy the reserve very much but not seen the cask strength, heard a rumor from a rep at tasting last week will no longer be able to buy any of Belle Meade except from the distillery
[quoted image]
Oh crap. I literally just saw multiple bottles Sunday when I was in KY. I knew I should have grabbed one!! Or Three
Quoted from kcZ:Green-Machine
If you ever get a chance to try Thomas H Handy, do it. I had no idea a rye could be that good
I had a pour of it at a bourbon bar near me a few years ago. I agree, it is really good.
Unfortunately I’ll probably never find it in the wild.
Quoted from kcZ:I've had 19GTS at a bar but who knows what was really in there.
So true! Money can make people do some shady stuff.
Quoted from djreddog:Not one, but two bottles.
[quoted image][quoted image]
You always find the craziest prices! Must be a lot of money on the east coast.
Quoted from kcZ:This is good...[quoted image]
Never seen this. Isn’t there a Blue Note Tennessee whiskey?
Quoted from Colsond3:Wrapping gifts in the workshop. But the glass is here, and plentiful.
[quoted image]
Freak in the sheets huh!? LOL
Quoted from kcZ:I guess you could call this Christmas lights
Seemed appropriate to open something real special
[quoted image]
That’s a clean TZ new playfield?
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:I'm not a rye guy but this ranks right up there with theThomas Handy sample you sent me. Nxt time I send you up some samples i'll include this one and I promise you'll be impressed.
I’ll keep my eye out!!
Quoted from jyeakley:Just found this thread…love some bourbon and pinball. Cheers!
[quoted image]
Welcome!!
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Oh maybe just one more
[quoted image]
I’m in!!!!!!
69803869-59EC-4E06-B492-E381F37C203B (resized).jpegQuoted from kcZ:Slumming it tonight before I go back to the office tomorrow.
[quoted image]
Awe I feel for you….
I’ve only had a couple Barrels that I’ve liked. The 18 store pick that Bill picked up
For me being the best I’ve had from them
Quoted from kcZ:Thinking about getting myself a laser for engraving. This may be a good first project.
Can you add a pinball into the side of the glass too? A little heat should do it
Quoted from kcZ:Sorry... No pic of the last pour. Blade and Bow, it was. This is one of those bottles that I bought out of obligation as I went into a store that didn't have anything that I was looking for.
This Blade and Bow.... Apricot is what I taste in this. Bottle is almost empty after a couple years and I won't bother to replace it.
Good to know. I’ve never tried it.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:I didn't really care for it either. Boyght a bottle and after finishing it I never bought another.
I have seen it a lot on the shelf but hadn’t heard a trusted viewpoint on it.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Here we go let's get this party started and drink our way into a much better 2022! Hopefully that is.
[quoted image]
I picked one of those up the other day. Haven’t bought the SR Weller in a couple years
Quoted from Olddragon:I'm in a Buffalo Trace mood. Decisions, decisions...
[quoted image]
Have you gotten your GZ Prem yet? I’m still waiting……I ordered day of official announcement
Quoted from Olddragon:I did and I love it! I lucked out and found a NIB from a distributor about 2 weeks ago. A big shout out to Ceckitti in the "What's for sale in Ohio right now?" thread for the tip.
I saw that from @ceckitti….thats great! I’m hearing May for mine.
Quoted from Chisox:My whole family ditched me to go to parties lol. What the hell else am I gonna do, watch the Dick Clark Rockin’ NYE special?
I hope not
Quoted from kcZ:I had a pour of 19 in a bar and was not impressed, having this 18 made me wonder if they cheated me.
Same experience for OFBB except that I don't have a bottle of that for reference.
I have the 2019 and love it!
Quoted from kcZ:Lego building and bourbon today.[quoted image][quoted image]
Whoohooo
Quoted from kcZ:This one is pretty good too. Unique, oily... Cannot quite pinpoint that flavor tho.
[quoted image]
Duh! Cream!
Quoted from djreddog:This stuff is legendary.
[quoted image]
I agree!!!! Love but can’t get it here grrr
What is a good online liquor store for shipment? My only option for smoke wagon uncut…. Just curious of the cost
Quoted from Fulltilt:It's me thinking of doing another cabinet redo...
[quoted image]
Cool piece
Quoted from kcZ:Looks like it's been a few weekends
Yea it’s getting uncomfortably low now. I will likely never get another bottle.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Since you drank most of it this weekend you just send the rest of it to me and i'll drink that this weekend
Its in the mail already
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Sad day here the last drops of the 12yr 1792 have left the bottle
[quoted image]
Boooo I hate those days
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Avoid this bottle it is crap
[quoted image]
Must have been distilled at the county jail, for real!
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:It's MGP juice but not good juice. I have a 12yr old store pick of this brand that is phenomenal but their regular stuff is crap.
MGP usually delivers
Quoted from kcZ:It is awfully good! I had low expectations but it may be the second best rye that I've had.
Congrats…. Good news!
Quoted from meSz:Understandable! I was always a beer drinker and never a liquor, of any type, drinker. Loved the Bourbon Barreled beers n thought one day to cut out the beer n just go with a bourbon. Now love mixing it up.
Go brewLAB
Quoted from kcZ:I'll issue an ass whopping after the first warning.
Hope it isn’t an ice whooping
Quoted from kcZ:This one (err IV) is tasting pretty good tonight.
[quoted image]
I concur!
A1C80150-170D-4582-B2AD-805B20AE8762 (resized).jpegQuoted from kcZ:Make sure it is the 100 proof
I took a screen shot of the bottle to make sure. I’ve learned my lesson from past mistakes….. I’m turning 50 next month so I need to learn from my mistakes at this point in my life LOL
Quoted from kcZ:Got a lot of learning
What are you, 60? I am only about 4 years into Bourbon shopping
Quoted from kcZ:I've learned all that I know for l from professor bourbon, PinDeLaPin
Me too!! Minus the ice cube
Quoted from kcZ:After the turd comment, I figured I would switch it up
[quoted image]
Never had the Larceny BP but the cookie cutter Larceny was gross
Quoted from Chisox:Nice. I’m actually one of the few people that kind of like reg Larceny. Since OWA has completely disappeared from my life I’m looking for alternative wheated bourbons. Even Ohio has run out of OWA Aaron! My daughter drove an hour each way from Oxford OH to get me a bottle of it and it was gone when she got there.
It definitely goes fast. It’s showing up more than I thought it would. Rumor is that it’s going away from Ohio. I have not been able to get one as of late. But I haven’t been hunting bourbon for awhile.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:All thos tall of OWA has inspired me to have a pour
[quoted image]
You go!
Quoted from ypurchn:Ok pinside. Someone make a decision for me to finish the night. [quoted image]
Taylor
Quoted from kcZ:Need to find a 21 bottle
[quoted image]
Good ol’ Hilton shared some of this with us I believe!
Quoted from Chisox:He gone. Another great bottle down that I may never own again.
[quoted image]
He died a half an hour ago
Quoted from Chisox:I think it’s the best game Stern has ever made and an absolute classic already. The shots and gameplay are incredible. The hype is warranted.
Can’t wait to get my hands on mine
Quoted from kcZ:Also of note, I considered this the best whiskey until I opened The GOAT
Baaahh
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Hey Aaron the last ball bowler I picked up was down in Cincinnati by you. Helped my buddy go get one today about and hour away that forced us to get pretty creative.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Whoa! That is one way to move that big beast!! Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing that. One of these days we'll get a chance to meet in person!
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:I do enjoy this stuff
[quoted image]
I like the Kentucky Owl. I think it’s a little high on the price for what it is but tasty
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Well we all knew it was coming but that doesn't make it any easier. A moment of silence here.
[quoted image]
Awe man! My bottle is sitting at the same level you started at today BOOOOO
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Told u it is seriously underrated
Thanks bro! I still like Early Times BIB better
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Been a while since i've poured some of this
[quoted image]
Pretty good?
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Good stuff but haven't seen it in a while
Have not seen it ever
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:I'm not a scotch or irish whiskey guy but can see how you could be pretty damn excited bout that one. Tear it open big fella and get that juice into your belly and let us know how it is. In the meantime i'm going to get into some mighty fine Tn whiskey.
[quoted image]
I’m super picky with Scotch and Irish whiskey. A lot of them I’m not a fan of. Red Breast is a really good whiskey. This 27 I have heard amazing things so we will see here if the hype is real!
It’s no Bourbon but a tasty whiskey indeed. Definitely have it before you’ve had a bourbon
That’s an OLD Fitz alright!
Quoted from Daditude:Y'all got me thinking about Irish whiskey with a few posts earlier. This is a thread of enablers! I like it
Here’s a great Japanese whiskey for you to try
image (resized).jpgQuoted from bowtech:Was gifted this today. Anyone try this before?[quoted image]
I have never tried. Let us know what you think
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:One last pour for the night.
[quoted image]
Quoted from kcZ:25 minutes to polish that off... You can do it
GO GO GO GO GO GO
Quoted from Daditude:This place doesn't serve bourbon[quoted image]
Beer is good
6B7C4811-3EA2-464F-989E-07D3F9A4F3C1 (resized).jpegQuoted from kcZ:How old do you like your bourbon... Very Old, Thank You
[quoted image]
How does that Barton’s taste? I have never tasted the 100
Quoted from kcZ:Crap, I missed PinDeLaPin bed time
[quoted image]
One of my favorite from OF
Quoted from kcZ:Let's hope this season fairs better than last.
Whiskey is strictly for the cabin at night. Absolutely no alcohol on the sled.
[quoted image]
You are the guy who plays Santa?
