Quoted from High_End_Pins:Smart man .You marry a Pi and eventually she turns into a Mu.
Best to just start with the Mu’s settle in for the ride and avoid future disappointments.
This just showed the infinite wisdom of the the Tri-Lambs.
Have no idea what this is Curtis put in my glass I just pair it with my barrel aged stout.

I found it.
Curtis is the bourbon man but I am learning.
Quoted from OilGuy:Anyone tried this yet? Extremely smooth $60 whiskey. Coors must have enough financial aptitude to buy the “best” barrels. Fat finger added a pic from Hawaii.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Hmmm interesting find! Never have I seen it. I will keep my eyes out if you’re along it the “best” barrels worthy $ Nice Hawaii pic!

Ahhh bummer… she would have loved the view. I understand though I don’t care for flying but I figured I made it all the way to Hawaii I could take a helicopter flight too
For any of the usual (or unusual) gang headed to Pintastic this weekend, I’ll be in tow with a couple gems.
Reaching semi-deeply into the cabinet, an owa private barrel pick, bottled in 2016, will be the main swiller. Barreled in 2009, this fella was put to the wood 4 years before JJP WOZ was released to the public in its first iteration.
The second will be a more recent ER10 pick, that absolutely blew my socks off. Being very uncharacteristic of the standard bottling, this one has the most sumptuous, oily, mouthfeel of ANY ER I’ve EVER had, and has earthy tones of coffee, oak, and leather, all while retaining that distinct and familiar BT mash#1 profile fans of the expression love.
The third…well, it’s a secret. And probably won’t get cracked unless I make finals in the Silverball Rumble Tournament. Which is very unlikely, haha. Only clue is that some might consider it to be “antique”, and a lot harder to come by this year.
Looking forward to tipping a few back right on the floor, and sharing some goodness with old and new friends alike, especially after being cooped up the last 20 months.
If you know, you know. And if you don’t, now you do. Cheers!

I will be making my first trip to Pintastic and would love to partake in some swilling! I didn't think about bringing something, but now I think I will so I can share. I'm new to the bourbon world, so I don't have anything super impressive to bring, but I will try and at least bring something good!
FYI - I can't be missed. I will be the guy in the crazy pants.

I certainly remember the pants from the last Pinburgh, haha! I think we played in a group together, if I remember correctly.
And no pressure whatsoever, don’t worry about bringing anything other than maybe a plastic cup (which I’ll try to remember to bring this year so everything doesn’t go so fast with bottle chugs!)

I want to bring something. Make a pick.

Quoted from Jackontherocks:Not crazy about this bottle, not bad but not memorable enough
[quoted image]
I see this bottle a lot. Always catches my attention but never purchased. Thanks for the heads up!
Quoted from ringonu:Raiding my brothers stash this weekend. Got some smoke wagon uncut, stagg jr and elijah craig 18 up on deck for Thanksgiving.

Those are some great picks!
Quoted from Green-Machine:Booo I finished a handle of Weller Antique today…..

Anyone have a go to bourbon based Christmas drink or punch? I would like to prepare it ahead of time in a pitcher versus mixing one at a time. I’ve looked at a few online but thought you all might have a couple sure fire recipes.
Mulled wine spiked with bourbon. That’s my plan for this xmas. Never tried it but regular mulled wine is tasty.
Quoted from Jaeg:It's been a bourbon drought around me for several months. Today my small town liquor store clerk asks if I want this!
I feel kind of guilty because it's the only bottle I've bought to re sale. I'm not into ryes so I'm not even tempted to open it.

Not I! From my albeit limited experience, Russell’s Single Barrel has probably been my favorite. This pick takes it to another level.

Evan Williams 1783 small batch and eggnog.
Really impressed with this affordable Bourbon, if its available in your area get some. Not too sweet, not too hot, really a good alternative to the pricey stuff.

Well you’ve arrived in a good place. I currently have 14 RR single barrel store picks open on my shelf and almost all of them, for me, are much more interesting than almost every Buffalo Trace bottle being chased. (George T Stagg and TH Handy excluded). For whatever reason RR 10 yr is …ungood, but Rare Breed, Kentucky Spirit, and WT 101 are all superb Wild Turkey products if you haven’t tried them. Cheers.
