First off I am new to owning a pin and have been following some guides online. I have pretty much determained with certainty that the reason I am getting lights and no start-up (and dont get me wrong, there could be more problem to come, only saying I know this is an issue) is the stepper needs cleaning/repair and isn't turn smoothly at all.

But when examining it I came across another issue. Most steppers I have seen all have two coils (step up and reset) and this one doesn't. But it sort of looks like it should, but then again I see no loose wires that would connect to it.

Can anyone look at this image and tell me if it is complete? Maybe this one is different.

(Update: I just located at 1963 Williams Parts guide. And it does list a step up with reset and a unit without). So maybe I just answered my own question but if anyone would like to chime in as to if there are models without it would still help. Because in my mind I still wonder if they just sold one without reset coil or if coil wasn't needs period.
I'll attach those images also from parts guide

This would be called a continuous stepper. It just keeps turning in one direction and does not reset. Most likely this is a match unit and/or playfield feature controller...

Awesome. At first I was scared someone before me had been monkeying around inside and removed parts. I don't mind replacing parts but nothing is worse than having something pulled and not knowing it is missing! The inner workings of an EM are already extremely intimidating to someone who has never been under the hood before lol. I seriously felt like Flynn in Tron when I stepped into that huge land of wires and relays having no clue which wire to follow first!

Thank god for the internet!

Thank you for the words of confidence. Tonight I plan to clean the stepper and then move on to whatever else is broke lol.
