Condition: HUO - Documented (Home Used Only)

As if it was unwrapped today!

Not a scratch on it anywhere as it was setup straight out of the box in the basement where it stood for 11 undisturbed years.

Mint playfield.
Perfect ramps without a single ball trail.
Goodie bag unopened.

Plays perfectly and I put in Comet LEDs.

Would like to trade for a newer Stern locally.

A Stern Star Wars would be ideal.

Nice!! Seems like quite a few huo popping up.

Yeah a few but even with the games I have put on it, this one has less than 75 total plays in 11 years!

Looks great!! It’s definitely a fun pin

I put a custom rom on it with updated music from the film. Really improved the overall feel of the game.

Is this the one you just picked up for 4k? Or was that a different HUO in OH?

More power to you if you can find a buyer at 6500. Lots of HUO potc out there and they typically are sub 5k even when brand new and mint condition. Nice examples have dropped below 4 in many cases.

Not sure where you got that I paid $4k for it because I didn’t, nor is it relevant to what the machine is.

I bought it for the game room. I played it about 10 times. Don’t love it as much as I thought I would. I played it with my wife who isn’t really in to pinball and she likes Pirates and is all for keeping it though so no sweat either way.

Per the listing I would prefer a trade (preferably local) as Noted as well as it says OBO.

I have had multiple cash offers at $6k since listing it and one willing to have it shipped to California.

If you don’t like the price don’t buy it.
If you can get one with under 75 plays on it for less than more power to you.
Thanks for the price policing.

I understand that! Sounds like the original owner felt the same way. I know a guy that still has one in a box that he never felt the desire to open. I think he got it for cheap so he couldn't resist though.

GLWS or GLWT or whatever!

Original owner bought it for her kids because they liked the movie. They stopped playing it. Most recently they left for college.

I totally get that. Certainly a kid's theme that has kind of passed it's time. Just like the kids themselves.

You will probably have no problem finding a nostalgia buff, that wants to relive his youth, to buy it though.

No worries, must have been a different HUO I saw recently out in OH.

Congrats on the quick sale (assuming you take one of those 6k offeres if a trade does not come along)!

I personally think it is a fun game, but also feel similar to you that after a few plays every so often the itch has been scratched. In a larger collection it would be fun to have to play ocassionally.

#16 5 years ago
Quoted from Deez:

It would be a good stern move to launch it at the same time as Jjp starts shipping theirs. And release it with color screen and updated code.

#17 5 years ago

I have 13 other games in the collection and anything that gets the wife playing down there with me is a good thing.

She seems to like it. We shall see what happens.

I’d like to find a nice CFTBL a new Star Wars or a more collectable game like TOTAN that needs some work to trade if possible.

I can always bring it to CLE•PIN in September and put it in my booth.

How many plays in the last 12 years?

#22 5 years ago
Quoted from Dooskie:

How many plays in the last 12 years?

I got it with revision 1.15 on it and based on build date I assume it came with that loaded on it. It had 63 plays before I updated it to 6.0 and I played ~5-10 games on it since.

Here, Bos. Just in case you dont understand the intentional misspellings and the plays per "X" number of years questions:

I’d also be interested in a trade for a Ghostbusters Premium

#26 5 years ago

You might get someone to trade even for a Ghostbusters Pro. I have owned 3 HUO POTC and a tough sell over $5,000 just don't know why .

I had figured I would be kicking in some cash on a premium.

Also on my list would be a WH2O

#28 5 years ago

In the end I may just put the POTC next to the WOZ and play more pinball with my wife, which would be a win for everyone.

Give it time. JM used to sell for 1500, DM for under 2000, JD for 1400, JP for 1600, Shadow for 2000, and WH2O for < 2500.

#30 5 years ago

POTC is one of the prettiest pins Stern has ever made IMO. I had one for awhile but just couldn’t get into the gameplay. You might not have to chip in that much to trade for a GB premium, not sure. It’s certainly worth more than a GB Pro.

#31 5 years ago

My immaculate, basically brand new, potc sat forever and finally went for 4300. If you get 6k offers, take it and run to the bank. Anything over that is a bonus. It is a fun game though. I'm a fan of the movies. Glws.

#32 5 years ago

Beautiful game, I definitely want another POTC someday, with the movie soundtrack and actors lines its even better.

Again I rather find the right local trade before I ship the game to California.

I would hate for something to happen to it in transport.

#34 5 years ago

If you have a bigger collection, just keep it. It gets boring in a smaller collection but is pretty awesome in a bigger collection. I miss mine but I like the creature I got to replace it.

#35 5 years ago

I suppose fairly large

I don’t know maybe trade for a GOTG Pro.

To you... but certainly not to me or I’d own a potc instead of my gb.

??? Why???

If you have multiple offers of 6k, then take any one of them and go buy a NIB game of your choice plus pocket the 600-1000 extra from buying a cheaper game on your own rather than trading.

Quoted from Bos98:

I have had multiple cash offers at $6k since listing it

#41 5 years ago

I would take off those plastic leg protectors if you want to leave it in immaculate state.

I don't often agree with Whysnow, but in this case, his pricing assessment is spot on. I also have a HUO POTC in cherry condition. It would be gone in a heartbeat if someone offered me $6000 for it.

I don't know - unless the OP is being a jerk about it (like the baywatch thread), why bomb the guys thread with unwarranted price police comments? The market will dictate what this goes for – no need to come in with your two cents. Kind of a D move.

OP's not a newbie, hasn't come across as offensive in his post and is selling it at the price he thinks is reasonable. Let the guy do his thing - again, market will answer the question of price point.

I really don't see much "price police" in this thread. But at the end of the day, this is a forum and it was opened with a thread so all comments should be welcomed if constructive. I find this thread more along the lines of the community trying to help him move the game (with the exception of the question on where the game came from). he may feel the game is worth ___ amount but if the the true value is way less than that amount and yet he has offers close to his desired amount the comments/feedback could help him keep from making a mistake (passing on the offers above market value).

At the end of the day, if his wife and kids like the game then I don't feel their should be a FS thread anyways. In a larger collection like he has having games the family and friends will enjoy sometimes is more important thus why I still have my avengers in my lineup

I completely agree that OP is NOT coming across as a jerk. The reason you're not expressing your view on his price is exactly my point. Not sure why others feel the need unless it's requested by the OP
