Hey all - quick question - I tried figuring out looking at the datasheets, but I'm not sure so I thought I'd ask:

Are 5101 chips essentially the same and cross-compatible?

I have what I think is a bad chip in my Williams system 3 board (5101L-3) and I have a spare from another game that I replaced with NVRAM a while back (Firepower 2 I think it was). The chip I have lying around is 5101E-1B

Can I go ahead and use the spare I have? I know it was good in the previous game.

Okay, I had a feeling the chips were okay to use as long as it was some variation of 5101. I just wanted to make sure, since I'm not expert in comparing all the data on the respective datasheets.

Thanks Zacaj - I'll go ahead and try it out until my NVRAM gets here!
