Digging up this old post... I am replacing the flasher in my Balrog (LOTR) which had already been converted to LED with a #44 base. I ordered a 5 SMD LED off ebay and when I try them they don't give off any light in the flasher. However if I put them in the GI they work fine. Does this mean the socket is wired wrong or is it the bulb that is wired wrong? They are marketed as automobile LEDs so perhaps its the bulbs then? I'm just thinking the best way to fix this would be to rewire the socket but is that a bad approach?
Whats the best way to get up and running but not do something I'll regret later. Ordering new official pinball bulbs is a bit of a pain as it would be like +20$ just to get it here and wait for shipping etc.
Just checked the LEDs with a 9volt and they work and the "nipple" is positive to work. So that means I have to switch the wires on the socket i guess?
Thanks!
