I have a Gottlieb 4 Square and just recently noticed that the back glass for other 4 Square machines has the words Gottlieb's 4 Square in red. Mine is white. I don't think it is from fading, as the other red colors on the glass look ok. Any ideas? Could it just be that mine faded that much?

    Quoted from RTS:

I've seen glasses where the red is not faded consistently all over. It's definitely unusual how precise the wording is so cleanly white.
There is also no red paint on the head, below the glass.
    Does the cabinet look repainted?
Maybe you got a 4 Square LE.

RTS, yes the cabinet has been painted latex white all over, and I haven't striped the paint yet. But the glass definitely looks like the lettering was originally white.

SuperDave, thanks, that may explain it, I will look at the glass closer for the areas that had masking versus the lighted areas. That may be the difference.

Thanks for all the input. When looking at the bg, the non silvered areas all seem to have turned white, so pretty certain it is fading now that I have looked into it more closely. So will think about someday getting a repro or used but still red bg. Thanks again everyone.
