Hang Glider 1000 pt relay (resized).jpg

I just bought a Bally hang glider. I’ve got to say I’m really happy with how well it’s working. I did just notice on player three when it gets to collecting the end of ball bonus it doesn’t add all of the 1000’s as the lights go from each number. At the end of the bonus it just adds 1000 and moves to player 4. I’ve also noticed that if I get an extra ball on player 3 it just stays on extra ball forever. So I suppose the ultimate strategy is just to get 3rd player and get extra ball! Just kidding. Does anyone have an idea of what I should look at? Thanks everyone so much for the help as always!

Can player 3 score 1000 points at all? Do the Outer Left & Right Bottom Lanes for example score properly?

I suspect that the End of Stroke (EOS) switch on the 3rd player 1000s Score Reel doesn't open which keeps the 1000 point relay on once it has been tripped:

The Extra Ball relay is probably sticking because the 1000 pt relay is sticking.

I need to double check the outlanes when I get home. I believe it does score but it’s might be wrong. So, just to make sure I’m understanding you correctly, you’re saying the issues lies in the 1000 score reel in the back box?

Yes, the End of Stroke switch (in red) on the Player 3, 1000 point score reel.

So now I opened it a bit (and made it so it’s still closed while resting. That seems to be what the others are) just to make not super shut. It’s collecting the bonus but it almost seems love je it’s scoring too much now. Is that possible?

To be specific now it’s like everything that was supposed to be 1000 is 4000 (drop targets,). Things that are supposed to be 500 are 1000

Can you elaborate? Exactly what isn't scoring correctly and in what way? For just player 3 or for all players? During game play or during the bonus count? Is it all targets of the same value or just some? Is it always wrong or just in some situations? Etc...

Yes of course. So now since I did my tiny adjustment on the end of stroke switch the game does now, Correctly collect the end bonus and ends play after one extra ball.

However, during game play the scoring is very inconsistent. I’ve created a small chart with what I’m noticing. The above digits are played one which I believe is correct. The below digits are for only player 3. Once again player 3 is the only one effected.

There should be scoring relays mounted in the back box, labeled 10 point, 100 point and 1000 point. Each time one of those relays fires the corresponding score reel on the current player should take one step. If you activate any of those three relays by briefly pushing in on the armature you should see a score reel advance once and probably hear a bell or chime. If you manually activate the 100 or 1000 point relay while player 3 is up do you get the expected results? Does the score reel ever advance more than one place, or fail to advance?

Beware that these relays and much of the game are running at about 50 volts. You should activate the relays by pushing on the armature with a non conducting item like a wooden dowel, plastic ruler, etc. Press only on the armature, not on the switches.
