AFM ordered thru PPS. Need to see how it looks installed in my AFM before I know if I will be onboard for any other future titles. (I'm expecting it to look great.)

Quoted from PPS:

There are several titles in process, likely Revenge From Mars and Theatre of Magic.

I was notified that my 3D AFM translite was shipped today. If it looks really good to me then I'll be in for 3Ds for RFM and ToM for sure.

Quoted from GRB1959:

The 3-D translite is shipped with an instruction sheet that details how to install it.

Anyone installing their translite with the wrong side out needs to have their pinball license revoked.

Received and installed the 3D translite in my AFM yesterday. I think it looks really good but not great. While the 3D effect is really good, the clarity isn't that great. I didn't expect the details to show as clean as on the original translight, but the windows and buildings in the background always look out of focus no matter from what angle or distance you look at them (granted that your eyes are drawn more to the figures in the foreground so poor background focus may not bother you).

I never liked the clear spaces in the original translite, where you could actually see through to the individual bulbs behind the translite. The 3D translite doesn't have any clear spaces, so I do like that factor better and I'll keep the 3D translite in my AFM. But the lack of clarity has dampened my enthusiasm for future 3D releases. I would order RFM (to match my AFM and because its translite says "in 3D" on it) but I will probably pass on ToM (and others) and stay with better clarity over adding 3D just because 3D is available.

ToM looks very impressive in 3D.
That prevue changed it from a maybe to a must-have.

I already have the 3D translite for AFM and just saw the others up close at Expo. I think the 3D Fish Tales looked the best (even with the background somewhat blurry) and WhiteWater looked the worst (of the four already available). But based on what I've seen I will be in on 3D translites for ToM and RFM (which are expected to be the next two produced).

Wondering where CFTBL is in the queue?

Unfortunately it is not.

Quoted from mayuh:

ToM 3-D translites are done and very close to shipping over to the USA.

Darn! I was hoping to order ToM and RFM together to save on shipping costs.

Quoted from Pinstein:

Was monster bash ever made or considered?

No licensed titles have been done. A long time ago I was told that since a translite can be used not just in a pinball but as a poster the licensing cost would be that of a poster and would be way too much to amortize on a relatively small number of 3D translites. So I don't expect any licensed titles to be done.

Quoted from Mancave:

Shouldn't need to trim anything but perhaps I have a different lift channel plastic on my Fish Tales.

When I purchased a 3D translite for ToM from PPS I also purchased the optional set of mounting plastics just in case my 20 year old originals were now brittle and split when I tried to insert the thicker 3D translite. It was a squeeze, but I had no problems with the install. So I now have a spare set (which is fine because I like having spare parts).
