It was a tight fit but it the was first thing I thought of when I saw the post. My wife was surprised when I got in and told her to put the glass on. It was fun, nice to add to the lighter side of pinside.

Hey guys, received the translite today. I highly suggest submitting a poster. It looks great in person, hard to capture a good picture.

Your RFM 3-D translite was well earned. Anyone willing to squeeze themselves into a smallish Pinball 2000 cabinet deserves a reward.

Indeed... that should win some sort of 3D backglass hall of fame award... totally epic!

So, I decide to go for a weekend cruise around the local galaxy, when out of nowhere I wind up getting pulled over by some local Earth law enforcement for a supposed "Busted Translite"...

I try claiming my innocence and explain that "Hey! I'm not even Martian!"...unfortunately for me, after the cop demanded a search, the ray guns got me busted!

I don't know what to think at this point, but if it's true what they say about Earth girls...I don't mind the handcuffs!

my neighbor's son was glad to help out in my interpretation of a "gulliver's travels" abduction

RFM contest (resized).jpg

edit:
the only thing that I managed to "add" were the teleportation rings for the cow. the lit alien eyes are modded martians pulled from my RFM (and powered by a battery pack for the photo)

I had a whole bunch of signs for the martians to hold which I completely forgot about them until afterwards. it would have made the photo a bit more humorous. the signs were:
'deliver a prototype 3D translite or the human gets it'
'hi mom!'
'I'm allergic to corn '
and 'enslaving mankind one pinball machine at a time since 1947'

Martians!

Thanks for your entries! and thanks for the participation in a fun give away competition like this. I'm always amazed what you come up with.... Henrik, me, some gin and a lot of beers will decide who will get the second prototype.

Hopefully tomorrow or the next day, depending on the hangover ...lol!

Congrats to the winner!
Nothing personal, just curious...didn't the contest rules say you had to be in the picture and there was supposed to be an actual RFM game in it too? I am in no way complaining about not winning, as all enteries were great! Just very suprised at how it was ran. Maybe I read into it wrong and contest rules were just a suggestion.

Again congrats to the winners! I would love to see one of these in person on game some time as I am sure they look great!

#34 2 years ago

I will post photos of it on mine as soon as I receive it. I did reach out to mario and ask that very same question as I had my idea thought out months ago. well before it was announced that RFM was going to be made into a 3D translite.

alternatively, I would have taken the glass off of my machine and substituted my neighbor's son with a stuffed monkey and did everything on the playfield. heck, for a chance at the prototype translite, I would have shaved that monkey just so I could have used a "hairless ape" joke as well

ps
I also pm'ed mario (mayuh) a photo of my machine as proof that I actually do own an RFM

nice. I sincerely want to say I wasn't trying to stir anything up. I really liked several enteries. I was just kinda like huh? We're is the game??

Sorry to even bring it up. It is awesome of mario and them to be giving these away!

Congrats!!

#36 2 years ago

thanks. if you make it to the VFW showcase (ann arbor pinball museum) in may, be sure to locate me friday or saturday and I'll buy you a beer (or two

#37 2 years ago

Congrats!

#38 2 years ago

Well, yes. And no. I was stating that, because it makes it a lot easier for people who don't have an initial idea what to do. Just take a funny selfie and you'd already have background that is related to the theme... I'll promise to include an 'or' in the next give away rules

I personally would like to give out more than just one, or two in this case, prototypes... yet, the ones that were initially done were so f*cked up, I wouldn't dare to show them to you. And the pre production samples (these ones) are pretty much the final product, thus there are only 1 or 2 in existence. Mercat's is so quoting the game, mancave makes great funny looking faces, and all the others were outright funny as well... but youhavetoshooseunevenifyoudrinktoomush

Anyway, we had a lot of fun, I hope you did too!

#39 2 years ago

It was fun Mayuh! Thank you for your generosity to people!

Do you know when the finished ones will be available yet? And final cost?

When I can, I would love to purchase one! My original is taped together all it can be. Lol.
