Boys got a 3D printer for Xmas. Made 2 mods already using free files on thingiverse!
Painted the Mando Tatooine city by hand! So fun!

Quoted from mbwalker:So are you saying you bought them a printer for Christmas, and now you are using it print mods for your pins?
Just yanking your chain - I bet they are having a blast!
That's actually a completely accurate statement! Also got the wife Stranger Things side armor since it's her favorite pin...definitely a Homer Simpson gift haha
Quoted from AUKraut:Here are some pics and a video of a homemade RUSH topper I've made with Fusion 360 and then 3D printed, started on an Elegoo Neptune 2S (Ender 3 clone with the same headaches) and finished on my Prusa MK3S+ (so much better). Drawn and designed by myself, all except the Priests which I got off of thingiverse and modified for my columns.

Phenomenal!
Quoted from PeterG:Did print the speaker plate today for the 5.25 kenwood speaker. I used own bolts to attach the speaker light and speaker. Worked perfect. Since I am in europe saved a lot of shipping, tax etc.

anyone have easy directions for how to install LED lights within the panel? Like a brand you use etc? I have an LE which already has the Kenwoods and I just want to add lights. thanks!

Congrats that's better than the Stern rod I paid $169 for
3D printed using free files on Thingiverse with an Ender 3 V2. PLA black with acrylic paint. Found art online and modified in Photoshop. We are new to 3D printing so you can do it too!
This is the ancestry of all machines that have left our home...

Quoted from snakesnsparklers:Which files did you use? Looks great!
I used these files for the 3D print. But for each pin I searched for cabinet art individually on google (takes awhile but not bad if you are interested in it!)
Quoted from Irishbastard:Awesome, I should really learn how to use Photoshop..
I learned it in grad school 15 yrs ago and is something I have used for so many applications. It's worth it and easier to learn now with so many you tube videos out there
3D printed pinball cabinet for Nintendo Switch! Works great with PinballFX3. I remixed it from a prior design with permission. Link to free file and with instructions and links for a few parts on Amazon. It's a no lag USB controller so it feels like real time flipping. The 2nd buttons on each side are for nudging. I added the ACDC art but you can customize for any machine. Enjoy!20220215_184026 (resized).jpg

Added a $15 LED strip in front and back. Files available free here if interested!

IMDN topper 2 (resized).jpgIMDN topper1 (resized).jpgQuoted from Xdetroit:Sweet! How did you decide to mount it?
used velcro tape. It looks good in gold PLA….BUT huge disclaimer that this is very basic compared to yours! Just an option for folks who want to print something simple DIY. Yours is a masterpiece.
Hi everyone. My sons and I are building a homebrew machine and ran into an issue where our LCD panel from Pinball life doesn’t quite fit the Stern speaker grill. Lucikly, someone designed a killer 3d print solution and made it freely available on Thingiverse! Trouble for me is that even though the files are pretty basic (4 smalll prints and 2 larger), the two larger files are an inch larger than my Ender 3. So I am stuck. Anyone willing to 3D print the left and right adapter panels for me for a handsome fee?
Thank you both so much! Ken already got started on it last night and also kindly offered it to me for cost to ship. My boys and I are so excited and grateful! This thread is what the pinball community is all about! Will share pics and progress report once we get it all mounted and happy to walk any homebrewers through this who face the same issue. I even shared the stl files with Scott Danesi for future Pinball Life customers because he wasn’t aware there was a fix for the issue. Thanks again!
If any interest this is our Homebrew thread which catalogs our homebrew journey from notebook sketch to a flipping machine.

Quoted from Rnlo:Hey, would any of y’all happen to have (and also not mind sharing) the dimensions (or a file), including screw placement (they do screw on right?), for a topper base plate to attach to a stern?
Figured I’d ask before I screw up a bunch of attempts!
My AIQ topper is 25 x 7 inches. There are 4 holes for mounting screws. The 2 in front are 1/2 inch off the front and side and the 2 back holes are inch off the back and side. Hope that helps! The other larger hole you see is where there is a screw already on top of the backbox so is not oart of topper mounting.

A couple of weeks ago I posted here a request for help in printing a file that was too large for our Ender 3. The file is an adapter to fit a Pinballlife/Spooky LCD screen into a Stern speaker housing, which we are using for our Honebrew. Ken eyeamred2u quickly volunteered and printed it over the Labor Day weekend, shipped to me the first business day, and did so at no charge. Just wanted to show the before and after progress we have made thanks to this adapter! LCD is installed snugly and also was then able to install speakers! Will power up LCD in a few days. Ken me and my boys appreciate you and we will pay it forward!
Also please follow our homebrew build where we have leveraged all kinds of 3D printed parts!

Quoted from king_pin:What color of T-moulding are you going to go with? Looks great!
great question! debating white, orange, purple or just leave it black. Same conversation about powdercoat! Maybe add gray/silver to the powder mix.
