Quoted from CaptainNeo:

they were cheaper than that 7 years ago. 7 years ago they were 3k. about 4 years ago they were 4500-5000 ish.

I bought my first MM more than 7 years ago and I shopped around alot and did not find any for $3000 (couldn't find one under $4000 at the time)
My local vendors were making good coin with these on route. I paid $4200 for my first one approx 9 years ago and it was pretty beat up.

3 years ago I sold the 3rd MM that I have owned it was pristine (i believe HUO)it sold quickly for $10,000 and that was 3 years ago (I have on 3 occasions tried to buy that machine back for a $premium with no luck)

Point here is unlike Tron LE and BIB... MM price didn't just double overnite the game has stood the test of time... something you can't say for alot of other games that sell for $10,000 + today

One last note To put some more perspective on this... 9 years ago gold was just over $400 per oz so my $4200 that I spent on my MM 9 years ago would of bought me just over 10 oz of gold that is now worth approx $16,400 given what $4200 would buy 9 years ago compared to what it will by now is food for thought.
If you paid 14k for an MM today you could by 8.75 ounce of gold with that same money.

Thanks uncle Ben Berneke keep printing money and an MM will be $35k soon as our Dollar will be worthless. This link tells the story of what the dollars value has done.

Great! I got 10k, somebody sell me one

#57 11 years ago

Ridiculous. I don't think any pin is worth more than $6k....not to me anyway.

#58 11 years ago

I doubt you could get 35k for a nib mm with batteries taken out before it was stored in perfect humidity for the last 15 years. I guess there might be a few that might just to say they own 1.

The best of the best mm go for about 20k at the high high end.

You could prob build your own mm from scratch with nos parts and repros for 10-12k not counting labor.

I would love to own one, maybe someday but prices are just too high ATM.

I think everyone is really missing whats happening here. It's for sure a drug transport. It's full of coke; wait thats the 80's --- what's people do today? It's probably full of Nicki Minaj. Which means your probably right; not worth the 35k.

actually MM is a 2.5k game with 7.5 K worth of hype attached to it.

Of all the games that are overhyped by Pinside and RGP? My screen would run out of Liquid crystal, typing so much.

#64 11 years ago

I would buy it for $35K, but only if it has $25K taped to the inside of the cab.

Nope, I certainly didn't.

You could buy a butt load of machines for 35k. If one had 35k to spend on games, Then 7 NIB machines would be my choice. I would agree I wouldn't spend over 5k on any machine.

#69 11 years ago

If you cats think 35k is insane, which it is, then checkout the guy on mr. Pin asking 100k for a NIB MM.

Do you guys get mad about expensive potato chips after someone sells a chip that looks like the Mona Lisa on ebay for $5K?

What! No Potato chip is worth $5000 (to me anyways)
I wouldnt pay over $2000 for a potato chip even if it looked like the Virgin Marry and it was a cool Ranch Dorito
