    all designs seem to have issues with this. I think the solution would be to put a donor 'tab' mounted to the PF so you have a clean lip to sit on your bracket. How to mount the extra length of wood would have to vary for each game. Screw through into existing holes, etc. So remove 2-3 of the backboard screws, put this board in place which effectively extends the PF, then secure through the existing holes.
