I don't know the best thread to post this in, but I feel like my beloved 808 is losing suction.

    I've cleared the tip
    I've emptied the filter
I hear what sounds like a good pump

I haven't taken it apart to visually inspect it...

If anyone knows of repair/troubleshooting threads for the 808 fire away.

Do I unscrew the device carefully to find the tube?

I took the thing apart, and realized I hadn't been cleaning all the stages of the device. I had only been cleaning the tip and the removable chamber, not the long shaft between the tip and the chamber, and not the felt behind the open chamber, so I used a wire brush on the felt filter and got some powder out, and everything sounds louder which is good, I'll try it out in a minute and see if I'm back in business. I did remove the motor cover, and that seems to be happy and loud down there.

thanks for the ideas to clean further!

I had a good session last night !!! Happy to not need to shell out another $200 for cheap goods.

I just need to learn how to better clean the fiber filter (on the motor side), because, I did scratch it up and remove some fiber. Not sure the best way to clean that, perhaps I should use a tiny vaccuum hose attachment on it.
