The stats are the same except for the Peak Off-State Voltage. 5060 is 30V 5064 is 200V. I'm assuming that would mean the 5064 is just more robust. Anyone know if they are suitable replacement (kind of like a 4007 will work for a 4004 in most applications...)

Electrically that will work fine. I can't remember if the package is the same or not, but the datasheet will tell you what package each uses.

They are in the same family and share the same pinout. Tayda has the 5064s in stock so I figured I might grab some for future repairs, don't need many. I have some 5060s I'll put to use but like to have some when I run out and I just happen to have a Tayda order coming, plus they have a 15% code GOODBYE2013 good till Dec 12.

My supplier doesn't stock 5060's anymore, just 5064's. They are a suitable replacement and what I've been using for years.

    Ditto.

Digikey still has a bunch in stock (or at least they did a few days ago) if you are wanting them specifically.

Dredging up this old thread because I’m repairing a Bally lamp board that had some bad transistors.

In testing the new 2N5064RLRAG transistors bought from Tayda awhile back I get the expected 0.63x with red lead on the center (gate) and black lead on the left (cathode).

When I reverse the leads I do not get the 1.18x that the working original 2N5060’s on the board give me. I get ‘OL’ for all the new 2N5064.

Pinouts are supposedly the same for both transistors. Center with black and red on right gives ‘OL’ as well.

    Thoughts?

In circuit vs out of circuit possibly?

    Seems odd, but try one.
After you've cleaned the holes from the failed part, simply jam a "ta-da" part into the holes and test. No need to solder for the test.

They should have been shipped in anti-static bags too. Oh well.

If you those are counterfeit, LMK. I can send you some.

Thx RC_like_the_cola and ChrisHibler Yes, soldered the new one in and tested forward and backward as it’s supposed to.
