Just arrived: a double LED Yoppsicle “Crossfire” designed for the AC circuit. I tied this one into the GI circuit of my Power Play to test it out and it’s super bright. I will be testing them under the inserts of a few of my EM’s soon. The LEDs mounted onboard the stick in opposing polarity should minimize 120hz strobing and provide plenty of light.

A couple of things to note: these will ONLY fully work in an AC circuit. In a DC circuit only one led will illuminate. Also I installed this in the backbox as a test. It would be poorly suited to illuminate a backglass in this manner as the light would be concentrated to a small dot.

Once I get these fully tested I’ll have some to offer to the community. I only have them in warm currently. Shoot me a message if it’s something you may be interested in.

Those would be great, however it seems without some diffusion those bare diodes cause the light to look like hotspots. Any pics with the backglass installed or behind some plastics?

They were installed behind the backboard only for testing purposes (it was the simplest AC circuit I could get to atm) and you are correct they would create a hotspot. These are designed to go underneath inserts on the playfield.

    You wont be disappointed!

Any other solution using just one LED is going to involve a bridge and cap on the board right? Probably more expensive vs. just wacking another LED in there.

How did these work out for insert lighting on EMs? I'd be interested in seeing a few photos w/ them implemented. Would be a nice solution.

I plan to outfit my Sonic Butterfly with them under the PF throughout. We just moved into a new home and I’m trying to get my shop set up but as soon as I get the chance I’m going to slap a few in and post up a comparison video with the other LEDs that are already installed in he sockets.
