2D Con is back for the fifth year and we are putting a large focus into upping our pin presence.
After 2020 set us back a year we are working hard to put on the best year ever!

Our event takes place August 27th-29th at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis.
We average around 3000 attendees and feature a free-play arcade with 200 arcade cabinets from all eras, and in the past around 20 pins and smaller pinball tournaments.

We also have a HUGE lan, a ton of retro and tabletop gaming, tournaments of all kinds, and concerts.

This year we are working with as many people as we can to bring more pinball into the arcade area and are offering free VIP registration to anyone who brings a pin or an arcade cab. It is one registration per cabinet..

You are also able to list your pin or cab for sale on site! We've had a lot of luck with sales and have a nice mix of collectors and fans.

VIP registration gets you access to the event, a t-shirt, and access to our VIP party. Our main goal is to provide a space for gamers of all ages to revisit their favorite games and find new ones.

I'd love to answer any questions that you have! Being a newer event we are always looking for feedback and suggestions!

You can learn more about the event at https://2dcon.net

    Wow, count me in!

I brought a pin and a vid in 2019. The free VIP registrations were much appreciated by my wife and I.

    Cool. I’m in. I’ll bring a pin.

We definitely appreciate the support! Which pin was yours?

I brought a Gottlieb Super Spin EM pinball and a Nintendo Popeye (cocktail) arcade game in 2019.

Anyone else going to this? I was thinking of registering but there doesn't seem to be much activity.

Have a few friends looking to play in a few fighting game tournaments, not sure pinball is the central focus of the con.

    Sorry for the late responses!

There are a few Pinsiders going and we are holding two pinball tournaments (one IFPA sanctioned and one non-sanctioned).
We are a new event, but do get around 3000 attendees

We have been trying to increase our pinball presence over the last couple of years, but as you can imagine getting pins on the floor can be difficult.

Right now for confirmed pins we have:

    F-14 Tomcat
    Hotwheels
    Led Zepplin
    Ninja Turtles
    Guns and Roses
    Avengers Infinity Quest
    Mandalorian
    Jurassic Park
    Houdini
    Lethal Weapon 3
    Metallica
    A T3 modular machine

We're hoping to end with about 30.

@LookItOps It would wise in the future to at least post prizes for your pinball tournament. I live in Sioux Falls and quite a few of my friends and myself would have been interested in attending.

However after talking to who ever is running the Facebook page all that I got out of them was "There are prizes, items provided by Sterns. Translights and goodies. This is a charity event so cash tournaments usually do not happen. The Saturday tournament is IFPA sanctioned."

Without knowing more information on the pinball tournament prizes we decided a 4hr drive just isn't worth it.

Hopefully in the future you will at least post the prizes so potential participants can see to decide if they'd like to attend.

Suggested details might include what translights people are playing for, how many translights. Prizes? What prizes? Any details would be much appreciated.

I PM'd you twice on this subject through Pinside and the 2D con FaceBook page with no responses. Essentially that tells me that no one really seems to care much about the said pinballs tournaments that are being hosted.

I might be willing to attend next year however like I said a prize list would be nice.

Thanks and have a nice day.
