Hmm, Tempest? I've basically given up on mine, think I've owned this turd a few years now...will leave out the details, but should just burn the thing in my driveway....May be up and running by 2096

The display unit at my local Wally world was broken and had a badly worn cp....looks like they came up with a nice cp protector lol....Can't play it, can't break it, and cp artwork should stay nice and new

Quoted from pinmister:

I was just at Walmart and looked at one of these 1Up Arcades. What a cheap POS. I noticed wear all around the buttons, so I went up to check it out. I digged my finger nail into top panel and it literally scrapped away paint. Is it even worth $200? I don't think so, don't be a cheap ass-just save up and buy a real arcade like CGC Ultimate Arcade-imo

Just there myself, tried the "finger nail test"....Dam, the CP is like a lottery scratch ticket! Wtf were they thinking with that stupidity....good thing they are sending out free protectors, but someone dropped the ball on that...

Quoted from vid1900:

Check your Brickseek
DON'T call Walmart and tell the employees the Brickseek price - they will buy them for themselves.

Download the "Walton" app, 98% more reliable for actual stock at your local store than Brickseek

People are going to shlt themselves, lol

Is there Dairy?

Table tops look cool, plastic is already swirled to hell on cocktails huh... Glass would probably have been s better idea..

Quoted from winteriscoming:

I have a cnc machine, so I figured I'd take a stab at making my own control panel protector for SF2. It would be easy to make a completely new control panel, too. Heck, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to make a complete cab using my SF2 as a model, but it's so much easier and probably cheaper buying the pre-made cabinets from arcade1up.

Isn't it easier to just clear coat it??

Atari Flashback 9 is on sale for $26.69 @ Menards.
110 games included.
SD card slot to load pirate games (Custer's Revenge anyone?).
2 controllers included.

FYI, just noticed on Slickdeals, someone found these for $9.98 at Sam's Club (Sega one as well)

Quoted from alveolus:

Changing gears, I am really not a cocktail cabinet guy, but I would be all in for a 4-player Warlords cocktail.
How sweet would that be?!
[quoted image]

Hmmm, I reconize that house....I think Jay (Owner of machine in pic) has a few of those cabs.

Quoted from vid1900:

I'm so dumb, thinking about it more.....
The solution is to get a .75 cent encoder wheel, then just cut the extra teeth out until you are left with 8 tics per revolution.
[quoted image][quoted image]
https://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=74&products_id=272

Could it be that simple??

#1891 5 years ago
Quoted from vid1900:

Of course it is.
I must have been in a brain fog or something.
The encoder circuit counts when the beam of light is interrupted.
If the original has 8 tics per revolution, ours needs to have the same number if we want to avoid any additional circuitry.

Does it interpret a rheostat (Used in 1up) the same way as an IR input(Normal spinner)? (Asking because I have no clue)

#1895 5 years ago
Quoted from vid1900:

I don't think it's a rheostat, I think it's a board mount rotary digital encoder:
[quoted image]
Like your old car stereo, where the volume knob would endlessly spin.

Ahh..OK, saw "rheostat" being mentioned in 1UP talk...

This guy does a pretty good job showing some good games I would have never played.

Saw this today....

First time seeing one not on a step etc, so I could see the true height and could see inside from the back. Not my thing, but if it hits $50, I may bite..

Quoted from Luckydogg420:

It looks stock.
I'm 5'8" and I'm comfortable playing standing. I bet at 6'4" a normal cabinet would also seen low. Games aren't made for people that tall.

I'm 6'1" and played a cab on a riser, not comfortable at all, unless your 10.

Quoted from 72Devilz:

Just a little heads up that the Star Wars 1Up with riser is selling on Amazon for the next 8 hours for $371.99 with free prime shipping. $77 less than Walmarts current price.

They may be all gone now, but according to Brickseek, most titles (Including Star Wars) were marked down to $50 at Walmart. Just saw it mentioned on Slickdeals, but checked Brickseek for my area, all gone. Guess this hit yesterday, so all scooped up... but maybe a few are still out there.
