Quoted from Jason43:

Got mine as well. Requested it on 11/1. I'm a little annoyed that the fitment is less than stellar. Oh well, i guess. Its better than nothing.

Do they cost $$$?

#1095 5 years ago
Quoted from Jason43:

No they don't. Are you implying that i shouldn't be annoyed because they are free? Because the game i put it on, with the faulty CP wasn't free.

Um, no. I have a SF coming and wanted to know how to order one. Should've asked the poster above, I guess.

Quoted from Chosen_S:

Take the control panel apart when you receive it and clear laminate the art... there’s a roll of clear laminate on amazon that will work well... I did both rampage and sf2 in about 20 minutes each
No more stupid raised cp protector
Clear Vinyl Self-Adhesive... amazon.com link »

Cool. I'll order some. Thanks!

Quoted from GLSP3022:

Ran across this website that offers custom A1U artwork for cabs and risers.
https://arcadegraphix.com

I'd love to cover the riser but holy hell it's one sticker and it's $5 less than the riser itself.

Quoted from Don44:

They have all versions except the 12 in 1 at my Walmart for $199 now

Thank you! On Walmart.com I managed to call them and get a price adjustment. The machine will be in my game room downstairs, so "Santa" is leaving this under the tree for the kids as a clue...

Quoted from GLSP3022:

Do they have a price match guarantee for so many days there?
Some places honor the new lower price if it's been like 14 days or so.

If in the return period, they'll adjust the price accordingly so you can get refunded the difference. Just did it.

Quoted from pinmister:

No if I want authentic I would just pony up and buy a real dedicated arcade. These are trash-just because they are cheap does not make them worthy-imo. I recently had a small Midway multi-cade (similar to 1Up) and I literally gave it away because nobody wanted it. Ended up giving to some kids who watched my dog when I was out of town. I just think if you are going to spend money on an arcade-get a real one. I paid like $1000 for my CGC ultimate arcade and the quality is night and day difference. If you want something cheap to throw under the tree-so be it, but you pay for what you get. Like I said I do not even think these are worth $150. The only thing good about these monstrosities is they help bring back arcade nostalgia to the main stream.

My kids are going to freak out over a $199 Street Fighter on Christmas morning and they’re not going to give a crap that it’s not a CGC machine with 90 games they’ll never play.

When they had their fun I’ll do the Raspberry Pie conversation for $117 or so and anything we want.

#1179 5 years ago
Quoted from pinmister:

May think twice about that, I own a CGC multi-cade and a Game Gate multi-cade and the kids absolutely love them. Come to think of it I can't think of one day where my kids do not play them. There are thousands of games and they seem to play all of them. They literally play everyday and unfortunately play way more than the pins. These multi-cades I bought are the best bang for your buck when it comes to entertaining the children.

I have a 60-in-1 cocktail I built, and another 19-in-1. They still go back to Fortnite pretty quickly.

Another forum says that the next batch has Gorf, Tron, & Satan's Hollow in one cab.

Gorf is the worst named best game ever.

Quoted from Malenko:

As for "months of nonsense" Pi2JAMMA is borderline plug and play with a jamma cab, finding a cab with the "street fighter" layout or a regular 3 button layout isn't hard to do. A Pandora's box IS plug and play.

99% of the market for these doesn’t understand what you’re saying.

98% of the market understands but doesn’t want to be bothered. They just want it now and have fun with it at a low cost.

#1923 5 years ago

Vectrex was the best. I used to play it for hours at Sears. My family would take the car to get new tires at Sears Auto and I’d just sit there playing Vectrex.

A lot of guys are using Odroid XU4 instead of a Pi

Any vids you've found on this, Vid? I'd need something like that to do it right.

There are some great ones out there on SF arcade1up Pi conversion. I could follow those but know nothing abut Odroid.

#1971 5 years ago

All I want is a Punch-Out / Super Punch-Out equivalent of the Street Fighter arcade.

There was a local toy store in the next town that had a Gauntlet in stock marked at $599.

Obviously bought it at Walmart and is waiting to prey on the last minute shopper/soccer mom w/$$$.

Fantastic! Thanks - anyone know about the plexiglass insert that fits the top of the controls? The guy I bought ours from said something about that

Anybody considered doing an alternative riser that’s a few inches higher? I’m going to build one eventually ..

There's a good FB group and someone used some Ikea tabletops stacked.

No key posts marked in this thread, unfortunately so I'll ask since things change.

I want to put a Raspberry Pi or Pandoras Box (I have one) in my SF2 Cab.

What's my Amazon shopping list? Looks like the links referenced by ETA Prime have changed.

Appreciate it.

#2314 5 years ago
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

Go for the Pi. What changed in the links? I bought them directly about 10 days ago

They were linking to a "group of items" that were similar, but I couldn't tell if they were good replacements. Do you have a list? I'll buy the same stuff if you're happy w/it.

In the middle of modifying the SF2 cab.

Just did a full Rasperian install on my raspberry pi.

Now what do I do? I'm sitting here with it hooked up to TV, w/ keyboard and mouse.

Is there a Retropie front end? Roms?

IMG_3585 (resized).JPGIMG_3585 (resized).JPG
#2383 5 years ago
Quoted from Diospinball:

Well, you don't need Rasperian to run Retropie. That's its own OS. Retropie is very easy to install. You just format the sd card. Then flash the retropie file onto it and you're done.
Then you just put the bios in the right folder and load up your roms. Rom loading can be done a few ways. One is via usb, the other method that I like best is to just transfer them over the wireless network onto your pie.

GREAT. Did this and I'm up and running.

Where's a good place for ROMs?

How do I install/enable the ColecoVision emulator (I'm on Mac).

#2386 5 years ago

Welp, this was a frustrating as hell shitballs of an experiment. Wish I never did it. Relying on YouTube is pointless. Can't find reliable ROMs. Limited documentation anywhere and despite having 40 ROMs on the system, nothing ever runs.

At this point I'd take more satisfaction in busting the system with a hammer.

Happy Easter!

Quoted from Mudflaps:

Buy a pre-loaded hard drive. Check Etsy or EBay. There are a metric shit-ton of options, all pretty much plug and play.
Also, we’ll be moving around the New Brunswick area this summer. I’ve done several raspberry pi rigs and will be building my third MAME machine this winter. Happy to get together over some beers to get you going.

You are? That’s my old stomping grounds. Definitely would like to grab a brew!

Quoted from Robotworkshop:

How many of you are doing the RetroPie conversion of the street fighter cabinet? It definitely seems like a great option since that cabinet with screen can be had for what some arcade places want for just a counter top cabinet kit without any graphics. the upgraded jnoystick and button kits with USB boards are pretty reasonable too.
I recently picked one up and installed the new driver for the LCD. Tested it on VGA with a Jamma module but think the RetroPie will end up being a better option. Are there any standards on connecting the buttons to the USB board? I've seen some Youtube videos but it appears that they just made sure player one and two were connected the same but the order seemed different on different video's

I did it. A bit of trial and error(s) along the way but there are some here that really helped me. Works great though and now I’m helping a buddy do the same. I’ll just order the same stuff.
