Reminds me of back in the late 80's when all video games were a quarter. I'd occasionally run into one that required fifty cents and would always move away from it. As a player, it is tough to stomach higher prices. As the operator, you have to charge what it takes to cover the cost of the game, the cost of money, supporting the game, and hopefully making a little profit.
However, there is a fine line when it comes to supply and demand. I'm one that will rarely/never buy concessions at the movies or sporting events as I just can justify to myself the exorbitant cost. Funny thing is that if they would lower the price of a soda from $4 to $2, I'd probably end up buying 4 or 5 of them during a ballgame instead of none. I imagine there are thousands like me, but there are also thousands that will buy regardless so there is no pressure to lower the price.
If an operator is getting enough plays at a higher price per game, then there is probably little to drive them to lower it.
