Quoted from PinRetail:Distributors/dealers can charge what they like for Stern's pinballs, but not less than a certain pricing model that Stern puts out.
I sell my pinballs at about $300 MORE than MSRP because I extend the warranty to one year, parts and labor, instead of Stern's warranty of 30 days parts only, with a small exception for the video screen. I also continue to service pinballs that I sell, in people's homes at a modest service fee for as long as my customers own the machine. You don't get the lowest price, but you get support after the sale, and I think that's worth the $300 of increased price. People can get a lower price by buying online instead of buying from me.
Per Stern's advisory, all new Stern's, even ones that are on a dealers showroom or in their current inventory and were purchased before the current pricing model, are to be sold at the new pricing that we are to sell James Bond at as of January 1st:
PRO MSRP: $6999.00
PREMIUM MSRP: $9699.00
LE MSRP: (you'll never see it because of demand, $12,999.00)
You might see a slight discount for a 'sale price'. For the premium model, maybe $200 less, but in general this will be Stern's pricing going forward.
What this means, here in North Carolina, with sales tax, we are over $10,000.00 for a Premium.
Repeat this a couple of times and marvel at the pricing:
New Pinballs Cost $10,000.00.
New Pinballs Cost $10,000.00.
New Pinballs Cost $10,000.00.
It's a whole new world!
There will be penty of LE's to be had at MSRP. Stern has out priced their demand on that front. Even a title as popular as Bond had plenty available at MSRP. Just wait till they put out a meh title for 13k. You will be staring at those boxes for years like it was not very long ago.
