Awesome! Thank you

Quoted from Jjsmooth:

Printed on steel, nice touch on a restored machine. I'll include these on every game I do from here on out.

You’re late to the party. AS ALWAYS.

New mdf panel glued and stapled in place.

Following... what filler did you use inside cabinet?

Quoted from Jjsmooth:

[quoted image]

Would you recommend this to touch up on the exterior paint around the head, etc? Thanks.

#60 3 years ago

Go back and upgrade to the newer style Stern auto plunger. It makes a world of difference.

Quoted from Kerry_Richard:

Inside cabinet I use this.
You must use primer/sealer on top of this before paint.

No, I would not touch up, because sheen would rarely match. Paint it all or nothing.

#63 3 years ago

New bottom edge glued and pinned.

I repair and smooth the outside of cabinet with Bondo followed by this glaze.

Then sprayed with this primer/sealer

First primer coat applied. I'll block sand this with #800, and repeat before spraying color.

I always enjoy watching people tackle cabinet work.

It’s awesome. And something I could never duplicate. Jerry’s the best at this too. Amazing watching him do his thing.

Base color applied. I chose this color based on background of new decals

I may behind the curve, but I’m not sure I recognize that cabinet decal set.

Nice. I have seen that one, just not the cool pattern detail. Very impressive work so far. Tommy is such a great pin, it’s worth the effort.

#76 3 years ago

Ive always loved the gameplay. The sound and the cabinet artwork always held it back in my opinion.
We will address both of those issues.
Im going to let the paint outgas for 3 days before applying the decals.

I can see you point re the cabinet, but I actually like the big old lemon. The decals you have are great and there is a set that’s basically Union jacks. All pretty neat.
For sound, I added a pinsound board and a pinwoofer system. Very happy with the combo. I thought the pinsound with their speakers was an improvement, but I thought it knocked it out of the park adding the pinwoofer system. I also added the pinsound shaker.
Thinking of reaching out to that guy that offers the switch out for the high polished ramps. With that, I think I’ll be done.

Decals applied.

Wow, this machine is looking great. A fella would have to sell their firstborn to afford the labor costs...

#85 3 years ago

Great work on the cab, like the way you changed out the base.
My dad was in a band with Roger Daltrey before they became The Who so I’m on the lookout for one of these.
Got to have a decent sound system with it.

#86 3 years ago

Some progress on cabinet.
These EZ Slides are a nice improvement.

Incandescent flashers? Probably smart on this title. Previous owner on mine put some blinding flashers on mine ... I feel like the real 'Pinball Wizard' on some games.

#95 3 years ago

Yeah, I cannot stand the tower of power led flashers on anything anymore.

My solution to hide the ugly wiring is not perfect, but a whole lot better than stock.

Incandescent flashers are the way to go always.

Comet has some new retro flashers. I haven’t tried them. Don’t see the point to be honest. Incandescent ones literally never burn out.

#99 3 years ago

First time I've installed Pinwoofer.
Very impressed. Nice stuff.

Yeah great product. Not only improves the speakers but gives them the proper amplification. Will this thing have pinsound too?
