This thread is to document a Data East Tommy machine I'm doing for a fellow pinsider.
We recently decided to do a thread on this, so I didn't take any before shots, but I'm just getting started.
Current status, removing playfield parts.

Quoted from Dallas_Pin:
I’m stoked to watch this restoration!!!
This project would be at a standstill if it wasn’t for at dallas_pin. He came through with a restorable PF that I sent to Captain Neo for restoration.

Glad it’s being out to good use! Neo killed it!! Looks amazing
Quoted from pinballjah:
Great game to restore, especially for a Who fan. Be interested to see what upgrades are added.
Pinsound (with shaker), pinwoofer, pinstadium lighting.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:
I'm going to see if WPC pf supports will work in this machine
Stern Spike ones work on DE titles!

These were bad design from the start.[quoted image]
I just installed Stern Sam supports. I had to modify do some minor mods with elements of the door, but nothing major. Sounds like the spike may be better. Point is that it’s pretty easy and waaaay better.
Also, someone mentioned mods. Lots of great sound options, shaker, etc., but that aside, I liked the Union Jack adornments pictured

Do you have a source of those adornments?

When I bought them he also sold the target stickers. Nice quality all around.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:
New inlane guides, flippers, posts, rubbers, and pop parts from Zitt.

I like the translucent rubbers on my Tommy as well. Works well together.

Those pops look great. I didn’t think they would, but they really do look great.

The pops and rubbers are phenomenal! I can’t wait to see how this all comes together!
Quoted from Jjsmooth:
ugly wiring
That’s a great idea! DE light wiring is
God awful on my Tommy as well!
Back in town, and back in shop.
I replaced all of the rollover micro switches, and placed the harness.
I use the lamp board connectors and stand up targets to guide me.
This has got to be one of the heaviest harnesses I have dealt with. Feels like 30 lbs.
I should have it hooked up tomorrow, and will start in on cabinet repair.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:
New coindoor from Pinball Life.
$69! Includes pretty much everything. Even the damn lightbulbs.
Such a great deal.

Nice! Did the same along with a cabinet redo. Door is really a must do on a restoration. Did you see the guy who does the exchange on the ramps? You send yours and he sends some that have an almost mirror finish that is nice and not over the top. $150 for both. Thinking of doing it, but since your game is torn apart....
