Quoted from Jjsmooth:

The behemoth awaits.. I'm not looking forward to this
[quoted image]

Wow. single reset coil for 8 drop targets in a single assembly that looks to be over a foot long. I would think linkage strain and wear would be a common issue on these especially with the memory coils/landing tabs involved. I just struggled mightily on a 4 bank in galaxy so this is definitely scary looking lol...

Quoted from TheLaw:

No, each one has a reset coil

I see one bank reset coil.

Quoted from Coyote:

Without the wrapper. That thing is hefty; it's gotta draw a lot of current there..!

yep. that's a long way to transfer that energy through the mechs down to the last drop. I dont see a ton of posts about problems with them though so I guess it's not that big of a deal. Curious to see where the springs are attached on this one. I ended up just getting rid of the middle rod on the seawitch 3 bank i just did and attaching the springs to the lifter arm for more consistent resets. no bricking either.

Quoted from TheLaw:

...and trust me, that frikkin thing get A LOT of work.

I'd certainly like to find out at some point. This is one of the last sterns on my target list. There was one available a few months ago in Tennessee for 3500.00. I should have snagged but I waffled for 5 minutes and it was GONE.

Quoted from bayoubilly70:

Are there replacement spinners for this game? It would seem that if your 41 year old spinner arm breaks you're screwed

I've used these and another from PBR.

The last one i used on Split Second the arm wires were too thick and they were painted so I drilled out my spinner bracket holes, stripped all the paint off the whole spinner and sanded and polished the whole deal including the arms. Not stock but looks decent and works flawlessly.

Quoted from BorgDog:

that spinner rod doesn't look like it's going to score many points in that position?
[quoted image]

haha good eye! that was taken prior to final re-assembly testing and you are spot on. It wasn't scoring very well. One of the issues i forgot to mention is the old spacers dont fit on the thicker arms even with a bunch of sanding so I just did something similar to what bayoubilly said and adjusted the bracket. that spinner doesn't have a ton of value until you light a substantial amount of "slit second" letters. It's also a very tough shot that produces disastrous results more often than not. Very difficult game when dialed in properly.

Quoted from play_pinball:

Nine Ball uses a special crazy ass long arm spinner that is free-floating on the playfield. I think that was bayoubilly70's concern
[quoted image]

whoa. I didn't realize that. i wonder why marco shows that the one i posted is compatible with nine ball.

Quoted from BorgDog:

the problem is the rod is on a part of the arm that just spins, no up and down movement, and hence no scoring.

it's all set. now tell me what is wrong with the original spinner here. The switch arm is not there but that is not what I am referring to. I was like...."how does something like this happen????" Maybe one of you guys can save me 18 bucks and tell me how to fix it.

Quoted from metallik:

The wire is slightly sagging in that position, lowering the center of gravity and causing it to rest upside down. Get needlenose and bend the wire so it arcs slightly upward on each side of the spinner to move the center of gravity up some, it should flop over and rest correctly.

awesome. thanks metallik. i will give that a a shot. I didnt think there could be such an easy solution.
