Quoted from Jjsmooth:I'm able to source parts from Marco to make pretty accurate spinners.
These will be painted yellow, with decals applied.

Where did you get this spinner with the unbent wires? I want some of those.

Quoted from Jjsmooth:I wish I would have found this hobby earlier. I am made for this. Proud that half my collection now is games I've built.
And early solid state is my cup of tea.
80/81 is such a great time for pinball.

This is nice. I remember reading about this Centaur with the metal work.
Good looking collection
Quoted from Jjsmooth:New lamp/display made and sprayed.

What material did you use for your lamp board? MDF? Plywood? Something else?
Quoted from Jjsmooth:Old Sterns have crazy fast spinners, when adjusted correctly. I figured alot of that comes from the very thin wire they used between spinner and switch.
I need 3, and I only have 1from the donor game, and they aren't available.
I found these wire sets at Hobby Lobby..

You buy those spinner wires from Steve at PBR. One end is open and you bend to fit.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:They aren't perfect, but I know I can do this, with a little more practice.
[quoted image]
Give it up. Buy some from Steve.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:I dont think he has any classic Stern spinner parts left.
I dont want to settle for the thick wires of other makes.
They are not thick wires. They are made for spinners. And they are not Stern. They are Gottlieb. And they are just a spinner wire. They work fine. I have some of them on my pins.
When you think about it, they do not have to be all that strong of wire. They are either being pulled up by the spinner's offset axle. Or they are being pulled back down by the switch itself. They are never in a "pusher" position.
Steve sells the straight rod on the left. And then you bend it to where you need and adjust your spinner switch accordingly.
First, you bend and "L". Then you make the U-turn. The U-turn attaches to the switch like the Stern units. You do not need an eyelet. The U-turn works quite well.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:Ok, couple other client projects wrapping up, so SG back on rotisserie.
Couple updates - A) I've waited long enough for wire harness from Third Coast, and still no time frame, so I'm going at it from scratch.
B) Bought these Yoppsicles for all insert lighting. Cool idea, nice execution.

I'm seeing two Galaxies sitting behind all that wire. Restorations or donor bait?
Quoted from Jjsmooth:Thx chuckwurt, these gonna help with Cheetah sizing.
[quoted image]
Two things.
1) If you need to add stripes to your wire, this Scared Stiff guy made a cool tool for striping wire.
See post #36. Then proceed to post #60.

2) I just made my order at Pinball Pimp for my Nine Ball stencils. While there, I saw that PP is now making stencils for Big Game.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:Donor bait...don't mix up those consonants..

Several here have that brick style floor in their QuickSilver cabs. This is the 1st Seawitch have seen with the bricks.
My Seawitch cab has a real wood floor.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:Thanks, cottonm4 for the pics.
I really like how the yoppsicles make for a clean light installation. I'll be using these on all builds from now on. No more flaky lamp sockets.
[quoted image]
I want to see your Yoppsicles when lit up. I have been lighting my pin with 2smd LEDs and I like the light I get from 2smd's.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:No more flaky lamp sockets.
What about the GI lights?
Quoted from Jjsmooth:New plastics made to match the playfield.
So much better. I can make more sets if anyone needs them.
[quoted image]
I would be possibly interested in a set.
How do they look when lit up?
What type of plastic are they made of?
Can you make them a little longer to get a little closer to the flippers?
Quoted from Jjsmooth:Game boots (thx Athens95), and should be a late addition to freeplay area at Pincinnati.
[quoted image]
Your plastics look real good !
The Yopsickles look good in the pic. How do you like looking at them? Are they bright enough?
