    Quoted from gamera9:

The new XFL was good. I enjoyed watching and thought some of the new rules were great. The games moved quickly and extra points were not a given. I am disappointed it ended this way.

I'm disappointed also and I dont understand it since they supposedly had enough money to stay operating for three years. I think with three years and more teams that people would have started liking it.

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

It never was anything against the NFL, not meant to compete, just meant to bring more football to people that wanted to watch some more football.
Was great for people like me, that does not watch any other sports.
And yeah, I will watch CFL games also once they play again.
I was enjoying watching the XFL more than I ever have the CFL, but I just like football period.
The NFL is the best, nothing will ever compete, and probably not try to compete.
It was sweet while it lasted, XFL games the next weekend after the Super Bowl.

I just don’t think the NFL welcomed this newcomer in its monopoly garden with open arms.

Operating for three years with whatever crowds were expected along with the revenue share from the networks.

Yep. Operating revenue, sponsorships, and merchandise sales all disappeared in an instant. Pretty crazy how this whole thing shook out. I'm not even a fan, but it did seem that they were gaining a little momentum this time around, and the product on the field was definitely better than it was on their first attempt.

Yup, and that and Vince McMahon might have been lying. Hard to imagine I know

XFL was cruising toward another one and done season; this is just a convenient excuse. The product on the field was poor and the ratings were dropping like a rock, just like XFL1 and the AAF before it.

We'll call it the "Deep Root Excuse."

The ratings were dropping but the game attendance was going up. I know a lot of people who thought that the first XFL was a joke, and they were actually watching it this time around. It really did seem to have a loyal following. Here is my 2 cents about the situation. Next spring is too far off for me to think about if it will return or not. Too much can change from day to day. There is talk that it will possibly be back in 2022. Again, way too far off for me to speculate on whether it will return or not. Since it is up for auction now, it would mean new owners, and with that could come new changes. The teams would have new players and coaches by then. Teams that we started to like would not be the same anymore. The whole dynamic of the league would be starting over. At that point I don't know if I would even be interested in it, and I was really getting into it this time around. It was not great football, but it was watchable football. If it had not been impacted by the virus, my family would have continued to watch the games on the weekend. And if there was a second season, we would have been there for that as well. As for now, I am not getting my hopes up for anything.

    The XFL is back!

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, investor group agree to buy XFL for $15M

I think it will do great if they keep it on major TV networks. And also do away with the excessive sideline reporting.

Other than that I was really enjoying watching the games.

The XFL won't play in 2021, the league announced Thursday, and is targeting a return in the spring of 2022. Co-owner Dwayne Johnson tweeted the news Thursday morning, and the league followed with an official announcement.
