Quoted from ChrisPINk25:

Just novus and elbow grease, or did you use a buffing tool?

I use this attachment for my drill. You can get these at automotive paint stores

How do you do the refinish on the coin door?

#211 4 years ago

Completely disassemble, clean harness, door, and frame. Use a scotch brite pad to scuff door and frame, and spray satin black epoxy paint. I also put new orange plastic caps over the 25 cents buttons. Those are always beyond hope.

Is there a specific brand of satin black epoxy paint you use?

#213 4 years ago

VHT, available at auto parts stores. It is the perfect satin black.

#214 4 years ago

Glad to see you found the coin door

#226 4 years ago

I really enjoy threads like this and realize how bad I am at restos. LOL

Fantastic work, that thing looks amazing!

Looks great, congratulations! How well does the light shine through the repainted topper?

#229 4 years ago

I hope to have time this weekend to fire it up. I will take pics when I do.

... did A&E not renew your contract? Can’t leave me hanging! Lol

#231 4 years ago

I have been hammered with work last couple weeks, leaving no time to finish this up.
That should change tomorrow.

#232 4 years ago
Quoted from Jjsmooth:

I had to read it twice!

#233 4 years ago

Haha. Yeah, could have phrased that a little better.

#234 4 years ago

Better to be hammered with work than hammered at work though.
