but I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate paying shipping
I bought lots of goodies this year. My wife doesn’t know it yet but she got all her Christmas shopping done for me early this year. My Elvira is gonna be the tits when i’m done (pun completely intended). As for PBL - they still got the largest order $ of all the places i supported on Black Friday even without a specific sale , i do find their pricing and service to be great all year round.
Quoted from RojerLockless:but I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate paying shipping
My shipping costs for a normal order from PBL or anyone for that matter is usually 70-145 usd. Still hate paying shipping?
Quoted from RojerLockless:but I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate paying shipping
Welcome to pinball. You’ll often find yourself adding more items to get free shipping. A 2.95 switch ends up costing 113.84 because you add on stuff you ‘might need one day’
As tonight winds down, I personally want to thank the super great companies that offer specials on Black Friday! I supported many of you as you support us! Thank you!!

haha this is me completely.
Quoted from RojerLockless:but I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate paying shipping
This cursed me for years. I hated paying shipping so much I would not buy something I needed, or buy too much to make up for it. The reality is, I'd have no issue spending a few dollars on gas and time out of my life if the store was a half hour away. Why would I stress about paying under $10 for someone to deliver it to me? Now I'm wondering what would happen if there was a pinball parts store 30 minutes from my house. That would be amazing!

Six years ago, I wound up with a CPR Pinbot playfield, mini-playfield, and a complete plastics set, all because I just wanted to replace the slingshot plastics that were a little sun-faded.
Quoted from misfitdart:The shipping up to Canada is fuckin insane!!
Probably nothing compared to shipping overseas to Sweden. A typical order of 70 dollar from Marco is about 150 dollar shipping for me And now we also got the 25% extra tax thanks to some stupid aeroplane manufacturers so you guys shouldnt complain lol.

I feel for you guys, total bullshit!!
Been holding steady on my international shipping rate for as long as I can, but at some point soon I'm going to have to bump it up again. A 3oz padded envelope is hitting $15 now, not too long ago it was around $7-$10.

Do you have drop boxes for people from the US to bundle several orders and send you (and other local pinheads) stuff as freight instead of each order?
Quoted from RojerLockless:but I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate paying shipping
You do realize shipping like anything is Never free. If advertised as free shipping you paid somewhere else! Sadly the rates for shipping have skyrocketed for everyone everywhere. Not the fault of the selling providers though. Just do as others suggest and Buy More lol.
Well, this is unfortunate. Just had a real expensive part break on my crimping press.
Still sorting out what happened, will affect some orders for sure.

Working on it. Impact is less than I feared, found a way to limp it along till I can sort out parts, and may be able to get some used pieces via e-bay for a big cost savings. I'll worry about it in the morning when I'm clearer headed.

That's good news. My last post was supposed show I was sad about your broken equipment, in case that was misconstrued. I received my BF order from you yesterday (thank you) and I'm anxious to put the test modules to use.
Anyone knows if pinbits is still in business? Keep emailing, they never reply and their stock is not moving.. website seems to be on autopilot!
Do we have a popular section for parts/mods?there seems to be hundreds of such posts, would be nice to have one, up to date, area..

I don't think I've seen them for years. Might be a good idea to post a separate thread as I'm kinda curious as well.
Quoted from guitarded:I think we were more ready for BF than they were.
Keep in mind that this is with their "surcharge" changes for end of year. I'm sure it still won't be enough to make them profitable.
IT's not just USPS... I feel like I'm seeing delays at Fedex... and defiantly at UPS. I have a UPS package which was supposed to leave Germany ... several days ago... that still appears to be in Germany and I'm suppose to "check back tomorrow" for an update.
I'm not surprised by any of this... I guess I was just hoping they'd have handled the surges better.

they are here but not in the US, rather Europe
Quoted from guitarded:Still waiting on USPS for much Black Friday goodness.

This is exactly what I came here to write about. From all my Black Friday purchases,
Comet: Delivered
Pinstadium: Delivered
Titan: No tracking data since picked up on the 30th
Mod Couple: No tracking data
PinGraffix: Not even a tracking number, but Joe says it was picked up
The USPS is a mess right now. Not gonna order anything that ships with them until January.

Yes, I made several Black Friday purchases. Only thing that I didn't get was my PowerBladez. Tracking says that they have been stuck in NY (not literally I hope) for at least the last 5 days - USPS. FEDEX shipments were pretty quick. UPS I got all by last Monday.

Super excited to get mine!
Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:Super excited to get mine!
Fingers crossed it comes tomorrow - since I spend so much time at the PO - they've been telling me how swamped they are and the delays they are experiencing due to unprecedented volume - I have stuff that's been out nearly 2 weeks that should have only taken a few days....
That said, I'll be so curious if this resolves the High Speed ramp deal......

Be on the look out for something called "UPS Surepost" which I think was formerly called "UPS Mail Innovations". It's advertised to large businesses as a way to economize shipping in order to boost profit. In short stuff travels by UPS trucks in their long-haul routes and is handed off to the USPS for the final delivery. It adds at least a day to the delivery timeline for the handoff between the two carriers. UPS must know it's slow and unreliable because when you track one of these tracking numbers you are offered the opportunity to upgrade the delivery to keep it in UPS to your door. The UPS site also offers you an associated USPS number for the final leg, but typically no scans are performed on the USPS number until the item is dropped at your door.
I don't think anybody in our pinball space is big enough to participate, but I've seen it used recently by gotprint.com, shapeways, shutterfly and onlinecomponents.com. Many of us are buying online right now for Christmas, I share in hopes you can watch for it and choose another delivery provider (or a different seller) to beat the 12/25 deadline. With so many stores doing curbside, that's not a bad option either.
