Betting is open for this event too, I know there is mixed feelings about this. But i think it's pretty awesome.

Is that poster available for purchase anywhere? Anyone going that could pick me one up?

Some are saying that this is the first time betting is open on a major pinball event - not true.

A Danish bookie had odds on the Danish Open in 2017 when I was there. I think they did the IFPA World Champs as well, from memory.

Betting makes it easier to watch others play pinball. Will they be streaming? I want to see my bets in action!!!

    #8 5 years ago

I'll be there. Just to hang out with Q from Impractical Jokers. Love him. Other than that it's not really worth the money to stand around and watch others play.

So this site is going to pay me 10k if I put $100 on Tim Street and he wins? I have a feeling they would find a way to cancel it.

I can't believe they invited him back after he was embarrassingly drunk during last year's stream. I'd rather set my head on fire than see that shit show again.

    Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

    Will they be streaming?

Yes. I believe so. I'm assuming on the PAPAtv Youtube channel. Or perhaps the Dead Flip twitch channel?

I just noticed the schedule. They changed it from last year. The public isn't allowed in until 5pm after the tournament is over? So it's $30 for an after party this year instead of actually seeing the tournament itself? What is up with that? Can anyone confirm this?

    #25 5 years ago

maybe they're bringing it down to the final x number of people, then having a break, and only having the spectators for the final part of the finals?

    #26 5 years ago

They’ll be lucky to finish round two by 5 pm.

I put my money on Gagnos....I like those odds

Pretty impressive because he came in early. Congrats!

Headlamps may be good for playing but it's super distracting to have a bright flashing light on your TV when you're watching a stream. If this becomes a trend after the ESPN Ocho presentation hopefully they can find a better camera angle for capturing the player on camera. On the "bright" side, he could possibly land some endorsement deals out of it

Congrats to Andy on the big win! His play was very impressive!

Stern brought 10 games and had them on freeplay. 3 Guardians, 2 Deadpools and Munster Pros, and 1 Batman, Iron Maiden, and Beatles. There were short lines at most of the games until 11pm. Highlights for me were seeing famous faces, playing Munsters and Beatles for the first time, and Ed Roberton's concert. The regular games at Bottom Lounge were on freeplay as well. I stayed for four and a half hours and watched less than a minute of the comp.

I'm surprised more discussion over this event hasn't been discussed on Pinside. The amount of quality and effort that went into broadcasting the tournament is very impressive and will only help promote pinball more. Hats off to Stern, PAPA, and everyone else involved for producing one hell of an event.

No discussion here, on tiltforums, facebook or on IFPA's website for that matter.

    It's very simple why..
