GOOD relievers can be worth it….they typically can help win more games over the course of a season but you have to balance it with good starting pitching.
I guess that’s the cost for a good relief pitcher these days….crazy money.

You should have put him on ignore a long time ago. Responding to him in any manner gives his lunacy some validation. Seriously, ignore him and the amount of white noise will disappear accordingly.
J Smoltz mentioned my old golfing buddy (deceased) Larry Sherry as one of two rookie World Series MVPs. My hs golf teammate became a national league ump and was discussing Cy Young winner Mike Scott and how every ball was cut in the same spot. The umps couldn't catch him doing it. The ump said something about cheating when Larry said something to the effect that he played with his hall of fame friend Don (Drysdale) and pitched against hall of fame rival Gaylord Perry. He kinda mocked the umpires cheating comment.
I think the only thing out of line for most ballplayers is the electronic cheating.

What are everyone's thoughts on the rule changes? The first few days of spring training have been fascinating seeing how everyone is reacting.
Scherzer having a :27 second strikeout has been the highlight for me so far. Overall I like the changes. However, I don't like a game ending on a violation on the pitcher or hitter. Just feels wrong.
The changes are fantastic, much more action per minute now.
Baseball fans are generally always against change, and I think most fans will come around on these once they give them a fair chance.
