Rudy is looking good!!

I've never heard of oven cleaner, seemed to have worked well!
Have you tried CitraStrip? Works great and no fumes, can even use it inside!

#102 4 years ago

And...he's almost back to normal.

Never tried it. I like the oven cleaner because it's not too aggressive.

#106 4 years ago

He looks 20 years younger!

#107 4 years ago

You're making him blush, Bob

Wow it’s really looking great!

#115 4 years ago

How did the decal application go? I'm looking to do this whole process to the cabinet of one of my games and I'm interested to see the final results and know where you go the decal!

#116 4 years ago

I'm waiting on replacement decals now.
Owner made mistake of supplying decals from Classic Arcades...what was supposed to be the blue color was almost purple. What was supposed to be red was orange.
Sent them back.

#117 4 years ago

Rudy's back! Great job.

#118 4 years ago

Looking great man! Inspiring me to dive into my machine and polish it up!

#119 4 years ago

Decal time. These are from Pinballdecals.com.
Nice stuff.
Lay a side on, center it up, tape one side in place.

I use a straight edge attached to the end so decal doesn't flop over and stick to itself.
Keep tight curl at cabinet and squeegee from middle out.

Laid down nice. Decal will be trimmed with exacto and straight edge about 1/8" from edge of cabinet all around.

Dry method I see, did you use to do wet but got so good at it you don't need to anymore?

I did do wet awhile back, but umm, yeah..
Seriously tho, I recommend dry, as long as u can control the decal. Dont let it touch the cabinet until u want it too.
The straight edge is key (or have a helper).

No upgraded cabniet braces?

#130 4 years ago
Quoted from mollyspub:

No upgraded cabniet braces?

These looked like they were put on by owner in last 6 months. Like new. Same amount of thread in brace type mounts. And this cabinet is solid, needs no extra bracing, so no need to waste owners $.

I love that!
Paid extra for the blue tape...

Dumb little question: how did you remove/reattach the label on the backbox door after you painted the door?

#142 4 years ago

Note to the guy selling the $7k fun house, this is how you restore a machine and justify that price!!

Great work! Did you just not finish a dinner?

#143 4 years ago

He’s likely just finishing up breakfast.

Side rails held in place with tape, as owner will replace with powder coated ones later.

what led bulbs do you use? do you install ledocd as well?

#149 4 years ago

I prefer 2smd warm white in GI, and incandescents in all controlled lighting.
No led boards needed when done this way.

Unless you would not like to see the GI dimming feature - for example before multiball. Without GIOCD board, you will loose the dimming effect.
