This is the 6th Mirco I've used, and haven't had the issues you had. If so, I'd have a problem too.
I'll be doing a resto thread on the Taxi in a few weeks, and let you know what I see.

Quoted from Jjsmooth:Bondo tomorrow.
Tomorrow? Don't leave us hanging like that.
You do great work.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
I totally enjoy making these old machines look and play like new again.
Quoted from Blackbeard:You must be taking a large amount of pictures. You just using a smart phone? Or a normal camera?
I just looked back and saw that I didn't respond to your question. I use my phone camera. I don't take as many pictures as I used to, as I have done a fair number of restos. Hell this is FH #3.
I take about 8 pics of bottom of pf as it sets on rotisserie. Up top, take off ramp assemblies and plastics, and get 8 or 10 shots of posts, hardware, etc. I lose patience anymore if I have to sort thru 100 pictures.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:Resto decal kit from Athens95. Glad he makes these available.[quoted image]
Is there one of these available for earthshaker look amazing.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:Steps ramp replaced[quoted image][quoted image]
Random thought. Would it be too risky to put holes for the optos so they don’t phantom register when the ramp gets dirty?
Quoted from rollinover:Selling the clown face rudy??
That is going to test his painting skills for sure. Can’t wait to see how he tackles that.
Quoted from rollinover:Selling the clown face rudy??
With the new it movie it may be a collectible
Did that machine come from Arcade Legacy? Was out there in May and tried to playa Funhouse, but it wasn't working that night. That clown Rudy looks familiar.
That starship fantasy looks amazing. Can’t believe I didn’t know about them. Does anyone know why they aren’t making ramps for all the old games? I mean any machine with over 5k production would be a money maker ?

Yep. Was was in need of serious love. This thing was beat to death

I think it just takes time. They just released WCS ramps and I bought them immediately.

I just saw an ad someplace of someone who was painting Rudy like this on purpose. I'll see if I can find where that was.

Gotta admit, not a fan. But hey, if somebody like it, good for them.

Funhouse using a Mirco was my very first resto, came up beautifully, that said their are a few holes that don’t look to be in exactly the right spot. Both shooters have problems shooting without hitting the posts. And yep I’ve tried all sorts of shooter realignments.
Taxi using a CPR was my second resto and again looks amazing. The quality of the CPR is fantastic.
Keep up the good work. Looks grea and a very worthy title.
Why do you always replace the bottom mdf on the restores if your sanding and repainting anyway? Isn't there a way to overlam the bottom with something and then paint? Great work!
Quoted from chuckwurt:Random thought. Would it be too risky to put holes for the optos so they don’t phantom register when the ramp gets dirty?
I see no risk in that.

Seeing this puts a fire under me to get started on my Rudy that's been sitting in the corner waiting for its restoration. I'm fairly new to pinball and this will be my first go at a playfield swap & overall restoration. I'm a perfectionist and I like doing this kind of project so I'm excited to learn it. I have the rotisserie, polishers, most of the basic tools, etc. My hang up is trying to come up with a somewhat complete list of parts and special tools that I'll want to have on hand for when I start. I'd like to avoid as many delays waiting for parts as possible and get the orders mostly done in one sitting. Also if I don't know what I need ahead of time I'm afraid I'll be trying to reuse things that I should replace and replacing things that don't need to be replaced.
-- Do you have a must-get-new list like t-nuts to switches, coils, opto's, and plastic spoons and how many of each? I would rather just replace if in doubt than have something let go shortly after I'm finished with it.
-- Is it wise to send off the boards to have them gone over? (whatever that means - I've seen it suggested)
Thank you for the helpful guide and kick start!

How did that end up working out for you? any guess on how long it took to strip all the decals off?
When i restored my FH (first restore) I heated up the decal and peeled off sections at a time. It took forever. So I am looking for better options for next time.

FH was my first restore, documented here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/funhouse-my-first-restoration-help-me-not-botch-this
(my documentation is from a newbie perspective, so it might be worth checking out)

I have read several but hadn't come across your FH resto. That's the perfect one for me - nice documentation of every step! Love the detail in what you ordered and newb questions you're not afraid to ask. Great insight from the pro's as well.

About an hour per side. I have noticed that my local Home Depot doesn't carry the Kleenstrip in theyellow/brown can anymore. That is the good stuff. Put a tarp down, wear gloves, and make a mess.
Don't do it in the sun, it dries too quick. Spray it, give it half hour, scrape it, then do it again.

Hardware, tnuts, spoons, etc, are inexpensive items that I just keep plenty in stock. Almost all nuts, tnuts, screws are #6 or #8. Buy them at home Depot or Boltdepot.com. Buy coil sleeves 20 at a time in longest length u can and cut to fit. All above pf plastic parts should be replaced, if u can get them
Coils only replaced if they are bad (burnt). If u can't get the old coil sleeve out, replace that coil.
Quoted from Jjsmooth:And clean enough that the paint prep spray and scuff pad will do the little bit left.
Skintone applied tomorrow[quoted image]
Wow amazing, I figured that was a goner and you’d just replace it.
