Data East Batman!
Quoted from PinRob:When are the Sega sized 192x64 displays coming to fruition?
Any day now. It was originally teased 2 weeks ago. I imagine Randy is getting some built up and tested to have on hand to ship once it is announced.
Indianapolis 500 has been announced. Cross one out of the poll.

Shouldn't Simpson's Kooky Carnival be included under the "Non Traditional Pinball or Redemption pinball games"?
Quoted from Sinestro:Shouldn't Simpson's Kooky Carnival be included under the "Non Traditional Pinball or Redemption pinball games"?
Quoted from DCFAN:Punchy does not appear to have DMD display. Also, it has already been discussed but Simpsons Kooky Carnival is merely a coin pusher and does not have flippers or a bat and ball.
Respectfully, this is a pinball forum not a redemption or arcade forum.

Feel free to start a new thread so you can add a poll with all the other types of redemption games with a DMD. It would be interesting to see the poll results. Pinside polls are limited to 9.

This was about DCFAN's list, not the poll at the beginning of the thread.
Quoted from Sinestro:This was about DCFAN's list, not the poll at the beginning of the thread.
Still, why not create a new thread with only the redemption games? I think it can be a very informative thread. He is the OP and decide what he wants on his list and poll.
Quoted from Sinestro:Uh, respectfully, I don't consider Slugfest and Strikes N' Spares to be a pinball games either.
The requirement was and is a DMD game having at least one pinball and flipper/bat. Otherwise, it is not pinball related. I reluctantly added games that are not traditional pinball because of the bat and ball. The whole purpose of the list originally was to keep track of traditional pinball machines that ColorDMD had left to color. Initially we did not even have the information about the number of DMD games that were mass produced. I was curious enough to do the research and make the list.
Also, I am sure there are some pachinko or other non-pinball games of other types that have DMD displays. The line has to be drawn somewhere. This is a pinball forum.

I am perfectly fine with the list being just Pinball games, and those bat games being dropped. In my opinion, that's the best way to go.
However, since you included them, and since Kooky Carnival is a Stern game with SAM boards, it seemed to be a logical addition to me.
That's all. No big deal.
Party Zone has such interesting colors and graphics. It would be so gorgeous in vivid color to match the day glow cabinet. Please!
Black Rose has been announced. Cross another one out of the poll.

But not Breakshot, even though you have it in your collection?
Quoted from ItsOnlyPinball:Ghostbusters
Goldeneye
goldeneye would be great for colorDMD!
Quoted from PinballManiac40:But not Breakshot, even though you have it in your collection?
Breakshot gets my vote
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Only 5 Bally williams left.
Yeah, but does WHOdunnit have to be the last B/W to ever get done just because it is last alphabetically?
Quoted from guss:Breakshot gets my vote
Sweet!! A couple of my friends have a Breakshot and I am really looking forward to seeing that one in color.
Quoted from littlecammi:Yeah, but does WHOdunnit have to be the last B/W to ever get done just because it is last alphabetically?
Yes, it will be last.
Quoted from PinballManiac40:I challenge you to do the Stern IJ4.
*I* can't help you there. Because; reasons.
Quoted from epthegeek:Is that a challenge?
Please consider the challenge to have been issued, my good sir.
Quoted from littlecammi:Please consider the challenge to have been issued, my good sir.
I *do* have access to one. Maybe after the other game I’m going to do next. After the one I just finished. Which is the one I did between black rose being ‘done’ and released.
WWFRR has been announced.

So here's my OCD kicking in again. Since we know that Color DMD had to make special LED screens for the oversized Sega DMDs, and that using the LCD screen is out, shouldn't the oversized games be listed separate, like the half-sized ones?
Or should the half-sized ones just be included under Data East, since it seems Color DMD is most likely going to make special LED screens for them as well?
They should either both be segragated, or neither of them.
Again, it's late and it's just my OCD talking.

The reason the half sized DMD games are listed separate is because there is much less incentive to color those titles since the DMD is not big enough to be very impressive and the games are less popular, and thus will likely be about last to be colored if they ever get colored at all.
The list is about getting games colored. The type of display (LED or LCD) to be colored for a particular game is really immaterial to the purpose of the list which is to keep a running list of the games that still need ColorDMD's great work. There are also other games that have standard size DMDs that ColorDMD colored for LED because of space constraints where the LCD version did not fit without permanent changes to the games.

I not only think they will be colorized, but that they may not necessarily be the last. ColorDMD didn't wait until the end to make special LED modules for the oversized Sega DMD games.
