You could sense a look of intensity and determination on the faces of the Caps (especially Ovechkin) before the game. They WANTED that Cup.
Damn impressed that the Caps dispensed with a solid team like the VGK in 5 games!

I was wondering how long it'd be before someone quoted b-drug,lol. Intense game, stayed up and watched it till the end. My wife laughed about the clock. Grats to the Caps, they definitely deserved it.
Well another playoffs in the books. After going down 0-2 to the jackets, who'd of thunk this capitals team would have gone on this run? Congrats.
Overall I found this year didn't have the sizzle of past playoffs. There wasn't a bunch of overtime games and lots of games were lobsided in score and didn't have that next goal wins or ties feeling that I love with playoff hockey.
See ya all again next April.
so glad to see caps win and not a team like Pens or Blackhawks that tanked consecutive seasons to be competitive and have a chance to win.

Yeah, it doesnt have much "sizzle" when you dont follow it that closely.

I followed it very closely and agree that there wasn't a lot of "sizzle". Other than the first round Caps vs BJ where 4 out of 6 games went to OT there weren't a lot of other OT games. There weren't a lot of cliff hanging games. I also think this is the first time we've seen a series where people didn't care, not in a bad way, who won. You had the Knights being the new team and the very likable Fleury vs the CAPS the team that hasn't won it since coming into the league (43 years) and Ovie, one of the greatest goal scorers at the downside of his career.
Glad Washington pulled it together
and got it done this year.
They played as though the Cup belonged to them.

Actually they were down 2-0 against the Blue Jackets. Both home losses. It took a double overtime win in game 3 that prevented a sure ouster in the first round. Congrats to the Caps. It is a good thing when marquee players win championships.

at 39 years old and coming off a torn ACL and MCL .... do you really want him though? He has said he would take a 1 year deal to stay in SJ but I would think you would have to get a deal to resign him in his present state!
HBO/NHL/SHOWTIME.....someone better follow Ovechkin around with a camera this summer to capture his antics with the cup. I think it would make for a funny and interesting documentary.
Caps wanted it more thats for sure. I was away for the entire series so only watched some of it. Thought Vegas would have a better effort in the final. As long as Caps don’t win back to back as a Pens fan I will be happy. How did we all do in our pools, I had Vegas in final with Tampa as winner I believe in start of thread.

My 13 year old daughter wants hockey to start again. She says her income from the house "swear jar" has been pretty slim pickens since the season ended. 
Pretty hard to get worked up over a baseball game.
