Sweet!!! There will be a mixture of 22 total LED/LCD ColorDMDs in various games throughout the show. If you have any questions about the product, you can look or ask for Brian (me).

    Game #80 will debut here!!!!

Very cool! I guess I should go scour our Expo game list to see what title it might be... Cannot wait for the Color DMD for Ghostbusters though! Hopefully next year...

We are just four days away from load in! I think this new hotel is going to rock.

    #56 1 year ago

Lots of great door prizes having been shown on Facebook. Heck, even Disney has sent some things. Whoever has been posting those on Facebook should consider posting them here.

So, what resturaunts are around the hotel? There was a Twin Peaks near the old one, is there a similar place (to watch sports games of course) near the new hotel?

Westheimer has a lot of great places to eat, especially near Beltway 8. Fondren and Richmond has good Fajita Flats Mexican food. There is a Chuy's Mexican Restaurant as well. Benihana's also nearby for your tastebuds.

    Tigerlaw,

I would recommend Kenny and Ziggy's. It is a classic New York deli that is complete. Huge menus. Eastern European. It is a little drive to get to the area that it is at, however it is highly worth it. Serving portions are absolutely huge. Prices are expensive, but it is one of the nicest things to do in the city. When the Patriots came to town, they eat at Kenny and Ziggy's. The real deal. This place is on national TV all the time. Egg cream? Got it. Real deal pickles.....check. Reuben?....fantastic. Stuffed Cabbage?....not a problem. Rotating dessert counter....got that too.

    https://www.kennyandziggys.com/

For those who want to spend more, there is a really great Brazilian Steak House. Houston Beef coupled with a Brazilian restaurant. All you can eat. About 50 a person, but very memorable. Do it one time in your life.

    http://www.avebrazil.com/sw-houston

There are a ton of places to go on this side of the city. Houston people eat out more than any other city in America. The prices are reasonable and everything is good.

I Would recommend McDonalds and Burger King. High scale burger chains that not many people know exist.

It's really gonna suck having to work the next 3 days leading up to load-in! I am so ready for Thursday to get here!

Speaking of Thursday, I think a good portion of the games will be in-place by Thursday night, like last year, so for those that will be there, be prepared to kickoff the festivities with some pre-Expo partying!

Sun *ahem* PartyKing attendance is required!

What date and time do tournament machines need to be brought in by so they can set up and checked out in time?

    #67 1 year ago
    Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

What date and time do tournament machines need to be brought in by so they can set up and checked out in time?

Hi, this is Phil, the tournament director. I'll be contacting people this week about these logistics, but the short answer is to drop off any time during the load in hours. We prefer Thursday evening, but whatever works best for you. All games should be loaded before noon on Friday. The tournament does not start until 6pm Friday, so there will be plenty of time for testing.

2018 Houston Arcade and Pinball Expo is happy to showcase the ColorDMD game #80 release throughout the weekend in a GB premium. Many thanks to Einstein's Pub who is supplying an awesome game for everyone to enjoy.

Color GB is awesome! Will Einstein’s also be providing generous portions of second hand smoke, like they provide for free at their location? Haha!

Go out side and hang out with Barry for all the free second hand smoke. I’m guessing he is having his smoke out again?

The tournament will be live streamed on Saturday October 20. Women’s finals at 4:30pm Central, and A-Finals at 6:30PM Central. https://www.twitch.tv/spacecitypinball

I’ve made a ton of recent improvements to the stream to make everything super polished. Our new mobile rig will allow all 20 games to be shown in 1080p, 60fps. We have new cut animations for a professional feel. We’ll also be debuting slow motion instant replay so viewers can get a second view of all the sweet saves and tragic drains. Hope you’ll tune in!

    #72 1 year ago

I'll be there with my Star Trek LE outfitted with all my mods and the ColorDMD.

Titan Pinball has graciously agreed to sell my Early SolidState Pinball Buttons and Housings in their booth so if you are in the market; stop by their booth. Limited quantities available at the show.

Good amount of games this year and we are still growing. http://www.arcadecenter.com/index.php/games/

    Quoted from PinballManiac40:

Good amount of games this year

From looking at the games list on the Hou Arcade and Pinball Expo website I see that there will be pinball machines available to play from 1961 up through 2018. That sounds good to me. I like playing the new ones and the older ones. Pulling back the ball plunger and launching a ball on an older nicely restored machine is good stuff.

Should have posted this sooner, but the Dr Who I'm bringing to the show is available for sale or trade if anyone is looking for one... If not, I'll get it home after the show for a decal swap and get it listed for sale here and elsewhere in a few weeks.

This hotel even has a haunted room for the Harp Twins and other performers over the weekend. We had nothing like this at the previous location. Man, hands down this new location is waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy better. Not even comparable. I was one of the doubters about moving locations (as we had the run of the place at the old location) but everything here is better and we have the run of the place here as well. Keith is the man!

Where is this hotel that would have a haunted room?
