It is now officially 3 months until the 2018 Free Play Florida Show in Orlando, Florida on November 9-11.
I am planning on having over 40 prewar machines to play and a few displays in the "Prewar Playground".
Special guests are also lining up.
Jeff Frick has punched his ticket to Orlando and will be visiting the "Prewar Playground".
Don't miss your chance to play these unique prewar games.
I will post a list of the games once it gets a little closer. I have a little more work to do on a few of them.

I should have 45 games to play Dave. You need to spend some time.

...hotel reservations made. Second year as a player. Question: Is the 'after pinball' party on Saturday night worth attending? What activities may be planned? Alcohol and pinball possibly ?
As a veteran (military too) pinball enthusiast, I have little interest in appearances from some controversial video champ or some rap DJ.

    Thanks Guys.

I've enjoyed the afterparty for the last few years -- they shut most of the lights off so it's fun to play in the glow of all the machines. And while the music is not to my personal tastes, the herd is greatly thinned compared to normal hours -- so it's easier to spend some time playing many of the games that may have been too crowded earlier.

    #13 5 years ago

Thanks Skyking for answering the question. I am usually to wiped out from manning my area to spend too much time at the after party. I feel it is too dark and the music is not my cup of tea and too loud. It is hard to talk to anyone. Many of us sit at the bar, catch up on the college football scores, drink some cocktails and talk to where we can hear each other. If you want an extra few hours to play games after playing for 14 hours, than it is for you.

Best Place to Hang at the Show!
    (Next to the Bar!)

Jeffs talent allows us to experience what others did 85 years ago, when it all started!

    #17 5 years ago

Holy Hell! Next to the bar???!!! Even better!

    Great lineup. See yall there!

    --Jeff

    #18 5 years ago

I don't think the area is next to the bar, (although that would be great), I think he is trying to say, that besides the bar, this is the best place to be.

    #19 5 years ago

Sorry, Semantics.....Bar is right outside the door in the Lobby, 20 steps away.
Oh shoot, that was last years hotel....sorry, dont know its relationship in the new venue....my bad.

I went to the show last night and today - THANK YOU for bringing those machines! I've never been able to play any of them - they were very cool! What a great collection and wonderful pieces of our hobby's history! (and the rest of the show was pretty good too!)

    #38 5 years ago

This display has been one of the hits of the show. It's been crowded the whole way through. I'm up to about 60% of the games played so I got to get working...

    Congratulations on a well-deserved award!

Beautiful, varied collection of prewars that show some of the dynamic range of a great era of pinball.

Hopefully I'll make it down to Florida one year and get to experience it for myself.

That 1932 Hi-Ball is curious. A game recently turned up with the EXACT same layout except the title "Rol-Lo". Perhaps a Canadian export version? who knows

these are super cool. I am fascinated about the common threads between American and Japanese machines of this era (bagatelle -> Corinth -> Smart Ball -> pachinko, etc)
