List the NEW games you think Stern will make in 2017.
Aerosmith
Elvira 3
Star Wars
In order?
- Batman '66
- Aerosmith
- Possible VE here (AC/DC is my best guess)
- Star Wars (if they get this far, might only be announced)
This year, they're cost cutting again, saving on the license fee and making a game based off their price increases,
It will be titled "Dialed out"
Cassandra is appearing at the TPF so I would consider Elvira 3 a near lock, Aerosmith and Star Wars are known to be coming.
Nothing worth buying with all their quality problems!
Let's sit it out for a while till quality gets better for our $10k !!
Quoted from LTG:Aerosmith. Jaws. Star Wars. Sons of Anarchy.
LTG : )
This would be an insane year! This is the first speculation I have heard about an SOA pin. I hope there is some truth to it.
Quoted from MRG:Elvira 3
I really don't see that happening. It's just not a lucrative license anymore.
Quoted from mbaumle:I really don't see that happening. It's just not a lucrative license anymore.
It's happening.
Quoted from iceman44:It's happening.
Spoken like a man with solid info?
So I think Batman '66, Aerosmith, and apparently Elvira 3 are the top predictions I'm hearing. Wouldn't 3 games be it though? Isn't Stern going with 3 new titles per year or no, there might be a 4th?
I would love to see another Elvira game, but it seems like it's been on the rumor mill forever. First I've heard of SOA. Loved the show, but it seems like a long shot.
I keep crossing my fingers for Jaws along with the 6 other people clamoring for that title.
Quoted from iceman44:It's happening.
I mean, anything is possible, and while I'd be all for a third game, I think Stern is currently playing it's cards pretty well (aside from the pricing nonsense). Batman for the boomers, and a Star Wars game would be incredibly lucrative right now for everyone else. What demographic would Elvira 3 appeal to, other than enthusiasts?

Elvira and Dennis Nordman are coming to TPF 2017.
Quoted from Nevus:Elvira and Dennis Nordman are coming to TPF 2017.
I don't know why, but I freaking love Elvira. Come over and play mine!
Aerosmith ( um ... No. )
Star Wars (could be nice)
Some unexpected VE priced like an LE.
Facebook (with banned user multiball! )
Quoted from Nevus:Done! I'm off Friday-Tuesday. In town?
Yeah, sounds good! I finally got JD 100% today after chasing schematics.
Dont matter sterns Elvira 3 wont touch the bally /williams scared stiff toy/feature wise . It may have deeper code but that will be the extent of it and it will be super expensive im sure.
Stern pretty regularly rotates through:
Blockbuster Movie Franchise
Super Hero Franchise
Big Name Music
Television Theme
Sometimes a "game" theme (BBH Monopoly)
* Aerosmith for music in 2017 is known from Donnie's book
* Guardians is a solid guess for the Movie, so is Tron VE; I don't think Jaws; Codename Shark (Batman 66) I think fueled the rumor mill here.
I'm most interested in the TV theme; we're over due for one, unless BM66 counts - and it might. But, BM66 isn't a cornerstone game. Westworld seems too new for Stern, but a relationship exists with HBO to make it happen. I don't see a lot of other TV shows with enough longevity and content to make it's own game. Unless, they do a TWD VE instead of Tron and Guardians takes the movie slot.
Elvira 3 doesn't fit the above categories, but could be their next "Boutique level" game I suppose.
So, my predictions for cornerstone games:
Aerosmith
TWD VE
Guardians of the Galaxy
Clue (board game)
hopeful if a music pin is made its not based on a rock group from 30+ years ago...
would love to have a current theme music pin that can earn on location from people under age 40 for once.

They are still making TWD, so a TWDVE is unlikely

You're right.
Quoted from Goronic:Aerosmith, TRON VE, one few see coming
I love this positive thinking! I would also love to see just one title from Stern in 2017 that nobody saw coming. Just one.
Quoted from bigd1979:Dont matter sterns Elvira 3 wont touch the bally /williams scared stiff toy/feature wise . It may have deeper code but that will be the extent of it and it will be super expensive im sure.
Scared Stiff definitely looks like one of B/W's budget titles like AFM on the surface. There's really no interactive toy on the playfield and the interactive backglass was nothing new. I'd say it's the code, art, and sound package that sets it apart. The layout is functional but not mindblowing.
I think Tim Kitzrow was pretty important as well. I'm a big fan of his and they should be sure to bring him back.
Aerosmith and Star Wars seemingly are not just predictions, but are probables for Stern in 2017. Right?
Predictions versus wishes; here are my 'wishes' :
- Tron LE remake VE
- Jaws
- Anchorman
However, I will only buy a NIB Stern pin if their poor quality, especially the soft wood and/or poor clear-coat playfield issues, are corrected.
