It's starting to get down to the wire and we need more pinball games for the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show next month! It's the 10th year of this non-profit, volunteer run show, we have a killer line up of new pinball titles and speakers, but we need more pins from the 70s-2000s. If you've been on the fence about donating games or can add a few more to what you are already bringing, that would be awesome!

Speakers and guests next month will include Dwight Sullivan, Stevie Ritchie, John Trudeau, Mark Ritchie, Greg Freres, John Youssi, Jersey Jack Guarnieri, Butch Peel, Tim Kitzrow, David Thiel, and Joe Balcer and Jolly from the new American Pinball.

We will have all the latest Stern games, along with the Houdini, Alien, two Dialed Ins and many more! But we really need your games too! Volunteering your games is a great way to promote the hobby we all love and help the non-profit show succeed and showcase pinball and arcade games to the public, as well as to the collecting community. There are tons of incentives for bringing games on top of that. Volunteer your games today at: http://www.nwpinballshow.com/volunteer/games

Or email Toby with the details directly at: [email protected]

If you are donating 3 or more games and live within our transportation zone, we can have a truck pick up the games at your house and deliver them back for you. Thanks!!!

Less than one month away! We are up to 358 games and growing!

What is the pinball count? What is the top pinball count from previous years? We definitely need to break the pin record for the 10th anniversary!

If anyone in the north-of-Seattle area (Edmonds, Lynnwood, Everett, etc) has one or two machines they need help with getting to the show, get in touch. I can stage at my place the week prior to the show and the show transport truck will stop at my place to pick up.

Awesome offer, I can stage games at my house in Ballard too. Current game count is:
    186 pinball machines
    130 stand up arcade games
    19 sitdown/cockpit games
    8 cocktail games
8 other (kid's zone redemption games)
    6 countertop games
    3 shooter games
    2 EM arcade games
    1 dancing (DDR)

363 total right now. The deadline for games the show transports is Friday, I'd expect a jump in the list then. And then self-transport games will continue to trickle in until the show weekend. I'm pretty confident we will break the 400 game mark, which is always what we aim to be around.

All games will remain on the floor for the entire show, no games will be pulled early if sold! All games will be on free play and accessible the entire weekend with the exception of the pinball games in the tournament, which are listed separately on our website.

I'm curious as to why Golden Arrow always shows up first on the list on the site and here? Surely something I messed up when I entered it (yes, it's mine).

Ha, me too! There is probably a space before the G. I can bug the database guy to look at it.

    #161 6 years ago

Nice, I see some em's I haven't played. Looking forward to that. A few in the tournament area I'm going to try and get a chance to play as well. This mini vacation can't some soon enough.

Will there be a chance to play these after the tournament ends or does that coincide with the ending of the show?

The tournaments run the entire show with qualifying rounds and 5 separate tournaments. The finals generally run right up until the show ends. That's why we separate them out and say they are only available for tournament play.

Honestly, tournament games are set up really tough, they pull parts, increase the tilt sensitivity and change the settings to make ball times shorter--for the average player, they aren't as much fun to play. But if you really want to play them, you could enter in one of the tournaments

That's the truth. The tilts are way-way too tight to be any fun at all.

Such a bummer that the only seawitch is in the tourney bank two years in a row...

Yea I only get to about 5 shows a year so the thought of spending a good portion of my time watching others play doesn't appeal to me. I would love the difficulty settings though. I really enjoyed Pinburgh because they opened the tournament games up on Saturday night. Looking forward to what see what additional games get added to the main floor. My friend and I love shooter games, will there be some of those there as well?

I feel like 2 years ago it was on the floor. But yeah, most of the games in the tournaments are owned by tournament volunteers and players, they bring their own games, do their own set up and run that part of the show themselves. I can put a request in next year to rotate the titles out, specifically Seawitch

The full game list is here: http://www.nwpinballshow.com/games

It's increasing daily, it's gone up 100 games over the past few days as we approach Friday's transportation deadline (the show rents trucks and volunteers pick up games at collectors houses if they will send 3 or more games). So far the shooters look like:
    1959 Williams Crusader
    1976 Clay Champ (Allied Leisure)
    Gaia Crusaders (Noise Factory)
    Police Trainer (P&P Marketing)

There usually are some more self-transported EM shooters that get added later and some House of the Dead and Silent Scopes. I think we are going to have that new Space Invaders Frenzy game too. I used to own the Clay Champ, man is that a massive cabinet to move around.

Yeah, I was hoping to get some time on that one too. I'm about 1/3 done with my Seawitch restore & I am itching to play it.
    - I did play the Seawitch @ the Pacific pin museum this April -- fast & fun pin!

Why do you all have to run this the same weekend as the RMPS in Denver? Because of this we get no guest speakers, no cool appearances, etc. Sucks.

We definitely should co-ordinate better next year, Southern Fried is the same weekend as well. We normally do our show a weekend earlier, but our venue was booked. And yeah, since we are the biggest show of the three and it's our 10th year, we got most of the speakers and new game debuts. But we want to work with all the shows, help the up and coming ones, and keep this type date conflict from happening in the future. We all have the same mission to promote the hobby, so let's coordinate better next year!

    #173 6 years ago

We will not be the same weekend again, the show will be the first weekend in June.
The venue had a booking 3 years in advance we were not aware of sorry.
Any contract in the future will be the first weekend.

    Chris

Looks like a great line up!

Went last year and going again this year. Worth every mile and a great time.

Thanks to everyone putting this together.

    #175 6 years ago

you are correct. It was on the floor two years ago. I actually made a post about this on last years thread. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/2016-nw-pinball-arcade-show-thread/page/5#post-3186744
Either way, i really appreciate all the games james brings to the show, but it looks like the only chance to really play it will be when i help setup again.

We hit our goal of 400 games! The Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show board would like to give a huge thanks to everyone that have volunteered their games for this year's show!!

    #177 6 years ago

It seems we have filled up the two main hotels we use for the show adjacent to the Tacoma Convention Center. If anyone is still looking to book a room for the show weekend, we have lined up a deal at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, which is about 5 blocks away from the venue. They've made the block for standard rooms with the 15% discount, the discount code is NWP to and you have until May 26th to use the code and receive the discount.

Please bring some yellow #906 and #89 flashers.

Welby may go on Friday evening instead. He's bringing his LED cases so I know he's serious!

I've been complaining about how empty his cases are on the last couple of games we did with leds. So he's going to be saying "filler up boys" when he brings out those almost empty cases.

Wow, I've never seen it broken down like that! I think it's a little higher than last year, maybe by 30-40 pins?

Yes, there will be more added like WOZ and a few more. I don't think Pinball Bulbs games are listed yet. And the coming soon I think are placeholders for games that haven't yet been listed but needed to meet the transportation deadline. Also crossing our fingers on the new Ritchie game, I know they'd love to have it finished in time to have it here since Steve will be here.

There will be minor additions and changes to the game list happening right up until the show, but it's probably 90-95% set right now.

    Dang, no skateball this year!

    Quoted from HighVoltage:

Was perusing and processing the publicly playable pin list... 180 pins. How does this compare with other years?
    Here's some break downs.
    Show Floor - 147 pins
    Vendor Booth - 25 pins ( or vender )
    KidsArea - 8 pins
    Coming Soon - 12 pins
Some mystery machines - any insights? Probably some stuff like Hobbit and WoZ that aren't listed.
    New Releases - 7 pins

    Williams - 50 pins

    Stern - 29 pins

    Bally - 28 pins

    Gottlieb - 27 pins

    Data East - 8 pins

    Sega - 6 pins

There will be lots of pictures posted and all their talks will be streamed live and put up on YouTube later. But I think your dare is taking it a little bit too far...

    Quoted from DumbAss:

I'll bring them ... in my machines.

Good lookin out tho, I'll bring the yellows and pink flashers which aren't in the main bins so good reminder!

We should have a P3 come in time for the show I hear. I am not sure which trailer we will have available, but probably can add another 10 games from us to the list

That's what I was thinking. James is out of town this year, so less or none of his games are coming, depending if he ended up staging some. I'm sure it will be back next year if we bug him. I want to play his Catacomb again too!

    #196 6 years ago

Any idea who had the Stern Hot Hand at the show last year? And did it sell? Thx!!

We should have some interesting stuff in our FAST Booth again this year. I got notification that Green Out is en route to our workspace in Gig Harbor. Shipping up from the Bay Area, it should be arriving today or tomorrow.
