Yay ... not going to rush my wife out the door this trip ... in no hurry for that. Was going to try to get there as soon as we could and eat dinner around there. Guess we should stop for dinner on the way before we hit Chicago. Any locals know the approximate time that rush hour starts to die down from a grid-lock?

Last year at Expo. My brother and I drove separate and on the way home he decided to lead me through the scenic highway route so we could see a cool view of downtown Chicago. We were stuck in traffic for around an hour longer. It was not worth it.
If your driving from Michigan, there might be a highway that takes a wider swing around Chicago. If I remember right Expo is a little south of Chicago right?

No, Expo is on the north side of Chicago.

I-294, the Tri-state Tollway is well worth the extra miles and toll expense. Purchase an iPass transponder at the first Oasis and you can immediately use the Open Road Tolling lanes. And you get tolls for half the cash price with a passenger vehicle. When towing a trailer, no discount, but you still get the Open Road Tolling lane access.
Take it easy; Take the Tollway. The Famous Illinois Tollway....

I'm just happy your posts don't end with - "uploaded by the Galaxy Note 7"
For those who arrived early there is a pinball art exhibit downtown called skillshot. Lots of original artwork that was used in many classic pins. It's open today til 5pm.

I've heard it's cheaper and faster to drive through the iPass lane without a transponder like a real out-of-towner.
Quoted from labnip:Guess where I spend next 60 mins...
after seeing that pic from the airplane food I would of guessed the bathroom.

The party continues!
Quoted from pinballlife:There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not we are having our open house this year. We are. In fact, we are holding it 2 days this year instead of only 1. We did remove the alcohol due to it being a liability issue, but otherwise it is more or less the same as always. Holding the event on 2 days rather than just 1 should dramatically reduce the congestion of the previous few years. We want everyone to have a good time!
See you here!

I could have posted these pictures. Same experience. United flight onto the Alamo/National bus in the rain. Little nap, now headed to expo.
