Time is edging ever closer to the annual Pinball at the Zoo event in Kalamazoo, MI (April 21-23, 2016), which means I have something to tell you…

I’m proud to announce, once again, that I’ve created the official event artwork for this fabulous pinball show. Big thanks to Kevin Ketchum (Pinball at the Zoo – Grand Poobah) for allowing me such creative freedom with the imagery to represent his show. Here’s a mock-up image of the poster (not yet printed):

We are currently taking pre-sale orders for the 2016 Pinball at the Zoo poster. This will be a 4-color, screen-print, on a nice heavy 100# French paper, suitable for framing, and will measure 18″x20″ when complete. I am prepared to personally sign and number this limited-edition run of 50, NEVER TO BE PRINTED AGAIN.

Price is $25 (+$15 shipping in the United States or +$25 shipping outside the United States). There’s also an option to purchase the poster without shipping if you’ll be attending Pinball at the Zoo and would like to pick it up at the event.

Before we go to press with these, we’ll need 20 pre-orders before it makes sense for us to print. Pre-order customers will receive first choice of a specific limited-edition number, but please make a note of your desired number in the “instructions to seller” box when ordering.

We’re going to leave the pre-order window open for a couple of weeks. If we have 20 pre-orders by February 28th, 2016, then we’ll go ahead and print. If we don’t receive the required number of pre-orders, I’ll refund everyone’s pre-order money.

Also...

I haven't heard anything from Kevin since sending the artwork to him a week ago. I just sent him a message directing him to your posts on this thread. While I'm the one handling the limited-edition screen-printed posters detailed in this thread, he's the guy handling the event-with-info posters you desire, and honestly I'm not certain where/how he plans on selling those. So perhaps you can shoot him a line on here. His Pinside handle is:

If you truly plan on gifting this to someone or have a legitimate reason for a second, by all means you can buy multiples. But I'd hate to see folks buying doubles to push us to our limit. With the current numbers we have, I'll foot the bill for the remainder if we don't make 20 by Monday. Ideally the pre-orders would pay for the run (and 20 is the break-even point), but I, too, really want to see these made and feel like the ownership should fall on me, not folks who have already helped-out. Plus, I have the ability to take 'em around to comic conventions where I exhibit in hopes of selling a few more.

Quick Update: I just prepped the file for print and sent it off to my print-shop. They should have mock-ups of the halftones in the next day or three, which I'll update here once approved.

Hello Patient Pre-sale Pinball Poster Purchasers,

Just wanted to give you a quick update. The prints have been paid for and I've been working with my print-shop to make sure the pre-press files are perfect. They sent back a mock-up:

...in which the snake and monkies were too red. I footed the extra charge to change that stock reddish-orange ink to a custom pantone color and now it should come out looking like this...

And for the repeat customers among us who have purchased posters from me in the past, you know these come out pretty-well dead-nuts on. I have a really hard time printing with anyone else because these guys are just as anal-retentive about quality as I am.

I'm told the turn-around time at this point should be a couple weeks or so. As usual, I'll keep you updated here.
