Looking forward to it! We'll be streaming the tournament (on The Hobbit and Wizard of Oz) on Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/buffalopinball

This will be my first year at this show. For the veterans: what should we expect?

It's a fairly laid back event.

In the morning, there's not too many people around, but around lunchtime and early afternoon, it seems to be more crowded.

#5 2 years ago

It was a good event last year, but its pretty small. No vendors and a handful of games from automated. You get to see the factory floor and meet the jjp crew. Im going again this year.

For those traveling a long distance, it could be a great weekend to go to the show and then make a stop at silverball museum in asbury, which is maybe 20 mins away. You can easily stay at SB for a good 5 hrs and its right on the beach. That in itself is worth any trip.

That's exactly what I've done when attending the previous shows. The two activities can really fill the whole day.

Silverball Museum
1000 Ocean Ave
Asbury Park, NJ

It can be hard to find (cheap) parking nearby. There are parking kiosks every half block or so where you pay for hourly or full day parking. Be prepared to use a credit card--the last time I was there, the three kiosks I attempted to use were partially broken and not accepting cash.

For folks who have never been there, this should give you a rough idea of what the place is like:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/visit-to-the-silverball-museum

The photos are a little old, so some games have been rotated in and out since those were taken. Also, there are just as many EM games as SS games, plus a section of video arcade games.

Hmmm...parking at sb has aleays been free across the street in the lot.

There is also some great food up the road...windmill hot dogs and maxs hotdogs/burgers in long branch. Check out the schedule at the stone pony too, which is right across from sb.

Nj and you...Perfect together!

Last time I was there, I think they were charging $15 in the lot. On the street it was $10. I think rates and what's free or not tends to change depending if it's the on or off-season. But--I'm not an expert on the area.

The lot is free only during the winter months. Weekends I believe the lot is $20 dollars. Weekdays is $15. I agree with ForceFlow

Whoa, cool! I'll be there! I wish Star-Jet was done to bring and show off, but alas, it is not. I'll still have to show up with something cool, though.

Don't use the lot in the summer. Stick with street parking.

I highly recommend using cash to pay. I've had friends who used their credit cards for parking, only to be charged $80.00.

I think you guys might be right...i only go in the offseason and that lot is always free.

Looking forward to hopefully getting some time on TH at the JJP show as i may want one.

Signed up!
I'm going to bring two games. Genesis, and...

either Big Guns, or Police Force.

Any votes on which one?

I haven't seen a working police force in a while.

#18 2 years ago

Police force!
And I'm definitely heading down to this event. Can't wait to see where my THLE was made and shake a few hands to say "thank you" in person.

Setting up the stream layout this morning. Got a 5 camera setup going for the first time so we can switch between Hobbit and WoZ seamlessly throughout the day.

Less than a week to go!

Does the design change every year? Pretty excited to hit this up on Saturday and then the Silverball Hall of Fame on Sunday. Pinball Weekend!

Yes, lol. I thought that I quoted you. Guess not!

Yes it will be a new design each year done by a new pinball artist each year. We already have our 2017 artist locked in. Don't ask who but I am VERY excited for 2017. That's all for now.

So who is bringing pins for sale? Last year was a little lean

Quoted from jboner1058:

There were about 15 games or so, I think. It was a reasonable number for the size, type, and newness of the event.

If I was able to make it this year, I would have made sure to have something ready.

#28 2 years ago

Not to sound like an idiot but can anyone show up?

#29 2 years ago
Quoted from jeff_286:

Yes. Even you. Please go and have a great time !

Hey I'm in the general area (up near Nontvale, Woodcliff Lake NJ).

Is anyone headed down that way near me? I didn't rent a car and need a ride because I'm on crutches!

Will do.

#40 2 years ago

Looking forward to going. Will try and get some pics. First time my non-pinhead wife will be going so should be interesting.

#41 2 years ago

Decided last minute to go to the show with my family. We were there 2 (3?) years ago. Looking forward to it. My daughter loves WOZ & Hobbit..

Made a trade deal with WD for a supposedly nice Funhouse nearby so that pushed me over the edge to go. I'll have it with me if anyone is interested. I have limited pictures, but it was previously owned by a friend of mine so I'm trusting it's pretty good.. PM me if interested

Woa Woa Woa. How am I just hearing about this now!? Sounds like a good time, and not even too far away. What are the stipulations for this event? What's the entrance fee? Is this something I needed to sign up for a earlier than literally the night before to attend?
