    #4 3 years ago

No info on tournaments yet. I would not expect any until we are a month away from the start of the show.

Added over 3 years ago: Anyone planning on bringing any games with a ColorDMD to put on display? I'll like to get an idea how many games this can be to see I can get them close together as possible.

    Quoted from SHOOTTHEPYRAMID:

    Any info on the tournaments?

The IFPA tournament will be finalized in September.
Expect a three strike 4 Player qualifier that starts on Saturday morning with a PAPA style 4player playoff in the evening.

Also expect some basic herb events for the EM & Classic SS. Each of those events will have a 4player playoff for trophies.

Also expect a 3 player team event as well as a kids event.

The Pinbot Cup will be awarded to the player with the best overall tournament performance.

    More to come ...

Yes it is. Leave their iPads at home.

Is this something I could bring my 7- and 5-year-old to?

Definitely. I have 4 sons and bring them all for several years now. The hotel is small enough for you to keep up with them. They will have a great time and you will make some great memories with them.

I will be there all weekend as well! A few of us folks that worked on the Domino's machine are tentatively planning on doing a panel discussion about the development of the game and we also hope to have one there for folks to play!

Something more fiendish in mind this year.

Let's just say the Pinball Olympics got my creative mind thinking.

Better yet, a skateboard. Not sure what the event insurance will think about all the torn ACL's they'd get from us old men.

    Or a prewar tournament!!

    Should I go to this???

I had more fun at HAAG last year than TPF (primarily due to Marcus' dedication to the tournament section).

If you don't go, you will likely start feeling depressed, followed by kicking yourself for not going, and then asking yourself wth is wrong with me?

Lots to do there besides just the tournaments.

I've never been to a pinball function before but being just a couple of hours away, I will be there. I talked to my boss...errr...wife and we're gonna do the hotel and everything. I'll reserve it tomorrow. What do I need to know???

    #46 3 years ago
    Quoted from radium:

Is this something I could bring my 7- and 5-year-old to?

Sure. There is usually lots of console games and other games than just pins and arcades. Better to come early and avoid some of the crowd .
