It seems like the whole process to get really good code and a lot under the playfield, is a long wait and lead time. I think Pat's game has also had a long lead time, so there is a good possibility that will be of the same build quality as WOZ and Hobbit, with great code. My concern is all the other games after these three. If JJP remains in business they will have to start pumping production faster, which means less time between games, like Stern. Will they be able to keep producing games like these first three, with very deep code, and all the features, like video? Time will tell, but it could be that these first three are going to be the deepest and best games from JJP. I hope that is not true, but I have my concerns. I hope it works out for them.

Well, he has to pay all the staff, overhead, etc,...and if they is only produce one game a year, and let's say they sell 3000 games, then that equates to about 10 games a day. I don't know what the margins are, but I don't think that is enough to pay his staff, overhead, insurance, etc... he needs to produce more, which means more games per year.

Good post from lowenpeg above, but as an early prepayer I have had all those thoughts and more. It's not rocket science. I still chose to keep going however, and as much as people keep saying its bad and not good, I really don't care. It's my money and I chose to roll the dice. I don't spend money at casinos gambling, I don't drink or smoke, so this is my way of blowing some disposable income. It's this or the stock market. I think so far the odds are in my favor. So, thanks everyone for your concern for those that prepay, and some have been burned in the prepay model from other manufacturers. I applaud them for trying to get other manufacturers up and running. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. In this case, pins look to be on the line. JJP #3 is probably going to happen. Paying up front is not for the faint of heart.

Pretty exciting. That is a sight for sore eyes. I feel like a castaway in a rubber dingy in the middle of the pacific, looking at land for the first time. Yahoo!

Wow, What a long ride. It's going to feel weird when my Hobbit lands on my door step. A little sureal. 3 years. A lot has happened to my family in 3 years. I can't imagine how long this 3 years has been for those that have been trying to get this pin out the door. If anyone asked me 3 years ago, if I could wait this long, I think I would tell them, nope. There has been a lot of posts here on pinside, both positive and negative. It is great it is coming to an end. Now the fun part starts. Getting games, getting updates on code, which makes the game better and better (assuming it's similar to the experience with Woz). I hope everyone enjoys the game when it gets to them. Bring on #3, but without the wait.

I am in a similar situation. I have had a preorder since Dec 2012. I tried the game at my distributor this week, for the first time. It did not grab me as I expected. The look and quality was fantastic. Game play was ok, and I'm keeping the preorder. I had Woz at almost the very beginning and the code was so weak, but I saw the potential. Now, WOZ would never leave. TH could improved drastically with CODE. I was surprised twice with WOZ, when a major code update came out. I couldn't believe the feel of the game could change that much. If after a year or two TH, still hasn't become what WOZ has become, it's gone, and something else will fill the spot.
