Sorry I actually asked an on topic question in here.
Quoted from brucipher:Sorry I actually asked an on topic question in here.
The subway leads from the entrance at very top of the playfield to the VUK near Smaug and the VUK near Bag End. I don't know if there is a third exit or if the entrance is included in the "three paths".

This is a basement thread after all so it's sadly expected. Drained!
Quoted from GravitaR:This is a basement thread after all so it's sadly expected. Drained!
Oh, good...Gravitar's gone. So now we can talk about him.
Quoted from Jeekayjay:Didn't realize Smaug was red.
In the novel Smaug is one of the last "fire drakes from the North". In the book he is defined as a "vast red-golden dragon".
In the movie, Smaug is presented with a long head and neck, red scales, enormous wings, and gleaming yellow eyes. Smaug has a deep, resonant voice with an underlying growl.
Here is a picture of Smaug in the Wellington International Airport - I think WETA studios made it.
I like the JJP red color for Smaug - it works with both the movie color, and the book too me. To me I kind of like the JJP Gold Smuag the best of the two, but opinions vary.
The red in the movie is a bit too orange for my taste - but good anyway.
EDIT: Actually looking at both the WETA profile and Matt's sculpt it isn't too far off. A nice interpretation for a hand sculpt.
Quoted from labnip:i wonder if anyone has plans to build mods/upgrades/etc... for the Smaug part ?
In a strange way Matt's sculpts bring a unique flavor to the JJP pins. The WOZ trees in some ways are God awful, but they are kind of cute and have 'grown' on me a bit. Could they be better done - yes probably. But I think they are just part of the character of the WOZ pin, and I don't think I would replace them if I owned a WOZ. I sort of feel that way about the Smaug toy too. But if someone does make any mods that will replace the toys in the Hobbit I will at least give them a look
EDIT: Still not a fan of the witch - and I wish Matt would have a 'second' version of that toy with bit more...refinement.
So let me ask this. If JJP is suppose to ship by end of January, 2016 shouldn't he start production now to meet this deadline?
Quoted from brucipher:Does anyone know anything about the "Player-controllable orbit subway with 3 distinct ball paths"? Where do the 3 paths lead to?
Got my answer:
Radagast VUK->right inlane
Balin VUK->left inlane
Balin VUK->left outlane
Did they change the backglass or something? What game is in the back?
Edit: never mind, probably just blind!
JJP posts pictures of the games and assembly line...but it looks like they hardly have anyone working there?!?
So they took all the cabinets and put them in a line. Seems like production is really ramping up now. Those could be the same pics from weeks ago.
Quoted from 27dnast:JJP posts pictures of the games and assembly line...but it looks like they hardly have anyone working there?!?
Look back at the WOZ threads. That was a constant statement as WOZ was being built. JJP seems to operate differently. They don't run like a full widget assembly line, it seems to be more of a small group taking games all the way through the process.

The JJP process is a bit different. They put a couple games next to each other, dim the lights, and put on some Marvin Gaye. The next day - new pins!
Quoted from TomGWI:I want to see a thread, "I got my game"
I want to write that thread.

If that is the case, how long can a company stay in business operating this way. The only real way to do it that way would to be build the games and then announce them as being for sale. But still something has to happen, they need to pay the bills to keep the lights on

As Jack would say trust me

What are they at? So I guess that makes the answer At least 4 years!

It's actually Al Green.

How in the world is JJP going to reveal and ship Pat Lawlor's new game this spring? That's what he's been saying...
Are they making them secretly behind the scenes? Is that what's been holding up the Hobbit? Are they ramping up both at the same time?
Any insights?

How does JJP define "production?"
Building test machines is not that different than saying production began when they started building prototypes.
Pictures of one machine next to several empty cabinets in an empty room is not showing production to me.

Or 2016.
Quoted from RTS:How does JJP define "production?"
I don't know how JJP is defining it, but I would define production as beginning when prototyping/testing is finished, the design/BOM is finalized and building commences.
The build may start with sub assemblies, harnesses, cabinets, etc as that is all part and parcel to producing the machines.

Well played sir!
Also, since we seem to have some time before a 'real' hobbit update I will cast my 'vote' for the blue bunny as top bunny
Quoted from JoeJet:Those look like the test games from before the empty cabs pic... from a different angle...

Yes... But they actually have playfield in them now instead of empty cabs
Quoted from Leechman:No they don't
See post #71 in this thread.. looks like 6 games there and here that were moved but who cares anymore, delivery to customers is all that matters at this point.
Quoted from Goronic:Uh this is 2016...
I know.
I just meant I wonder if Lawlor's game will get out the door in 2016 vs say 2017 or 2018.
Quoted from FalconPunch:Yes... But they actually have playfield in them now instead of empty cabs
Got it.. 6 games almost done in 6 days.. things are humming along..
Quoted from Pinchroma:image_(resized).jpeg
So are these actual "test" games? Or are they full production games that will make it into the hands of us greedy buyers?
Quoted from JoeJet:but who cares anymore, delivery to customers is all that matters at this point.
You're right about this for sure!
Quoted from ek77:As Jack would say trust me
When you send emails asking about timing and he doesn't respond, one gets a bit worried. I know i have sent at least 3 now with no response, but if i ask something about woz he always responds.
